The Week 3 NFL betting Monday night doubleheader offers multiple unexpected predicaments. In the early game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play host to the Philadelphia Eagles

Surprise: both the Tom Brady-less Bucs and the coming-off-a-tough-Super-Bowl loss Eagles are both 2-0 straight up. NFL odds have the Bucs 2-0 ATS and the Eagles are either 2-0 or or 1-1, depending on which line you grabbed ahead of their win last week at Minnesota.

The Buccaneers defense has been formidable. Sure, they've faced the Bears and Vikings, but they've only given up 17 points in each outing.

The Bengals and Rams meet in the second game of the evening. The Bengals have struggled and looked flat-out bad starting 0-2 for the second season in a row, An 0-2 start didn't doom Cincinnati in 2022, as they rallied to reach the AFC title game before losing to the Chiefs. The Rams are 1-1.

All four teams playing have the ability to score, some moreso than others.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

First TD: +575 at Caesars Sportsbook

Anytime TD: +117 at Caesars Sportsbook

Jalen Hurts remains a critical fixture in the Eagles' running game. The Bucs will likely put a spy on him all night (Devin White), especially in the red zone. But Hurts is hard to stop given Philly's available options.

Tampa Bay tends to struggle early on offense and hasn't scored a TD  in the first quarter this season. Hurts is capable of scampering into the end zone on a broken play, or pushed in by multiple teammates if he's within the 2.

Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin

Anytime TD: +220 at DraftKings

The total in this game is a healthy 46 points. We can expect a bit of a back-and-forth offensively. The Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield are finding an offensive grove under new coordinator Dave Canales. The new OC worked his magic with Geno Smith in Seattle last season. Mayfield is now under his spell.

Chris Godwin remains the most reliable and trustworthy target in the Bucs' receiving corps, especially in the red zone. And he could have a favorable matchup this week due to injury. Godwin has gone over his catch number in 11 of his past 14 games. He gets open. He gets the ball. And he can score.

Buccaneers RB Rachaad White

Anytime TD: +170 at Caesars Sportsbook

The Eagles have yet to allow a rushing TD this season. They could easily stack up against the run against New England and Minnesota. It will be a bit more difficult given the Bucs' strength at WR and TD. White is a good play here.

White will see some significant gaps, even in the Red Zone. Last week against the Bears, he carried the ball 17 times for, 73 yards and 1 TD. He also caught 5 balls, and could find the end zone on the back end of a swing pass.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase

Anytime TD: +135 at Caesars Sportsbook

Joe Burrow has been this season, whether the issues are mental or tied to his offseason injury. Another week should help his healing. Ja’Marr Chase has gone over in his receiving yards total in his past 8 games at home, and gone over his catch number in 11 of his past 16 games. He gets open and is a reliable target. He can reach the end zone either before or after the catch.

Rams RB Kyren Williams

First TD:  +340 at Caesars Sportsbook

Anytime TD:  -165 at Caesars Sportsbook

Kyren Williams is now the featured back with Cam Akers being shipped east to Minnesota. Rams QB Matthew Stafford threw a pair of picks against the 49ers in Week 2.

Up against a raucous and well-lubricated crowd on the banks of the Ohio River, the Rams will likely keep it simple and basic - looking to take advantage of what's been a softer-then-expected Bengals defense. When the Rams are in the end zone, especially early, they're not going to take any unnecessary risks.
