For the third year in a row, the Buffalo Bills ranked in the top 3 in the NFL in scoring and the top five in yards gained. For the second consecutive year, they ranked top 2 in points allowed, too. They won the AFC East title in each of the last three years.

But the Bills have also lost in the AFC Playoffs each of those years, short of their ultimate goals of reaching a Super Bowl, and winning it.

Buffalo is clearly close. Perhaps all it takes is a special NFL Draft class to push it over the top.

Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has used his resources of NFL contacts developed over 20 years covering the league and the NFL Draft to create his hypothetical NFL futures odds on who gets selected 27th by the Buffalo Bills in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Who Will The Bills Take In The NFL Draft?

As great as the offense has been, the prevailing thought is it could be better. The interior line forced Josh Allen into quick decisions, Devin Singletary didn’t quite emerge into the feature back the team was hoping, and Dalton Knox, while steady at tight end, could use competition.

At No. 27 in the 2023 NFL Draft, interior line, running back and tight end are good positions of need.

With the signing of Damien Harris from the Patriots, RB isn’t the top need. But Texas RB Bijan Robinson is considered a Saquon Barkley type, a potentially transcendent RB that could take an offense to another level in Week 1. Aligning him next to Allen would be a nightmare for opposing defenses. But the Bills sit just behind other RB-needy teams; it’s possible Robinson drops to 27th, but just as likely he doesn’t.

Alabama’s Jahmyr Gibbs is the next in line at the position. He was the top back on the always-tested Crimson Tide, gaining over 1,400 all-purpose yards. He upped his stock with a strong effort at the NFL Combine.

Wide receiver wasn't considered a spot of interest until two weeks before the draft, as rumors out of Buffalo say Stefon Diggs isn't happy. He was a malcontent in Minnesota and might be turning into one in Buffalo, too. The WR class could produce several standouts in the latter half of the opening round. Zay Flowers of Boston College has Diggs-like tangibles and abilites, while Jaxon Smith-Njigba of Ohio State offers a bigger target similar to Gabe Davis, depending on which direction Buffalo brass would want to go.

Similarly, Buffalo isn’t in dire need of a tight end, but there are options in this draft that could offer a new dimension to the offense. Dalton Kincaid of Utah and Darnell Washington of Georgia could go as high as No. 15 to the Packers, or drop to the Bills.

O'Cyrus Torrence Odds To Join The Buffalo Bills

When it comes to the biggest need, however, interior line fits the bill. Improvement at guard is the position that can help the offense the most.

Florida offensive guard O’Cyrus Torrence is not only the No. 1 interior lineman in the NFL Draft, he’s the only likely first-rounder. Buffalo will jump at the chance to take the 6-foot-5, 330-pound Torrence and improve a line that ranked 31st in rush blocking.

The biggest question is if the two teams directly in front of Buffalo on the board, the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys, take Torrence first.

The Field is led by defensive help, including Arkansas LB Drew Sanders, Iowa State edge Will McDonald IV and Maryland CB Deonte Banks
