CeeDee Lamb has taken his game to another level in each of his four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. Now he wants to make sure he’s paid like it.

Lamb is holding out on his fifth season with the hopes for a massive contract extension that would put him among the highest-paid WRs in history. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is hesitant to go all-in, especially with QB Dak Prescott also up for a new deal.

bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has surveyed the landscape and revealed his 2025 NFL odds for the three-time Pro Bowl wideout.

Possible Landing Spots

There’s no denying Lamb’s talent. In four seasons, he’s been the go-to guy for Prescott and the Cowboys offense. In 2023 he achieved career-highs across the board, with an NFL-leading 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 TDs. He was named to the All-Pro first team and finished third in Offensive Player of the Year voting.

Lamb was making just $4.5 million in 2023 in the final year of his rookie deal. The team exercised an option for 2024 for $17.9 million, a hefty raise. He wants that number nearly doubled in the future.

Lamb is seeking a deal reportedly north of $33 million annually. The Cowboys offered a deal that averaged that amount, and the wideout turned it down.

Vikings star Justin Jefferson received a four-year deal with the Vikings that pays him $35 million annually. That’s where Lamb wants to be.

As of now, the Cowboys are projected to have $68 million in 2025 cap space, the fifth-most among all teams. Prescott won’t come cheap. It isn’t impossible to afford both Dak and CeeDee with a few additional cost-cutting moves and without any other high-priced additions.

There is a belief the Cowboys realistically plan to bring just one of those two high-priced starts back for ’25, and they plan to let the 2024 season decide which.

If Dallas isn’t the spot, then where? It would take a team with a lot of cap space and a belief that a top-tier WR1 could make a world of difference for an offense.

The Washington Commanders and Arizona Cardinals rank Nos 3 and 2, respectively, in available 2025 cap space, each just north of $90 million. The Commanders’ receivers aren’t their biggest concern, but Lamb would be an upgrade for new QB Jayden Daniels. The Cardinals could afford to add Lamb to line up opposite rookie Marvin Harrison Jr., giving Kyler Murray the best WR tandem he’s ever had.

No team can pay more than the New England Patriots, but the prospect of major free agents going there isn’t as high at the moment. The Denver Broncos are in a similar spot.

If playing with a proven veteran QB and competing for a title are key factors, the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers are expected to be in a good enough spot with the cap, too
