A repeat Super Bowl berth wasn’t in the cards for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023. In fact, the team went 11-6, won three fewer games than the season prior, took second to the rival Cowboys in the NFC East and was upset in the NFC Wild Card Round.

The Eagles fired both coordinators after the disappointing season. Now head coach Nick Sirianni will try and regain the mojo that made them Super Bowl favorites.

Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has used his resources of NFL contacts developed over 20 years covering the league and the NFL Draft to create his hypothetical NFL Futures Odds on who gets selected 22nd by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Eagles made a splash in free agency by adding star RB Saquon Barkley from the rival Giants. Edge rusher Bryce Huff, who had 10 sacks with the Jets in a reserve role, fills a need on the D-line, too. The off-season also marked the return of safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson after his one-year stint with the Lions.

Defense is still the place with the biggest need. The Eagles ranked 28th vs. the pass in 2023, allowing over 300 pass yards in nearly half the games.

While the early part of the first round will be focused on quarterbacks, wide receivers and edge rushers, star-caliber cornerbacks and safeties could fall to the latter half, and perhaps as far as No. 22.

Quinyon Mitchell of Toledo and Terrion Arnold of Alabama are slated to go between picks 12 and 16. The Raiders, Vikings and Colts, all picking in front of the Eagles, are in just as dire need for a lead CB.

But there are a number of other potential first-round talents, and Philly could snag any of them.

Kool-Aid McKinstry of Alabama and Nate Wiggins of Clemson all have the tangibles to be a success at the next level. Any number of them could be there at No. 22.

We’re projecting Wiggins to be next off the board, with more size than McKinstry and a blazing 4.28 40-yard time at the NFL Combine (McKinstry didn’t run). If the opportunity presents itself, the Eagles could trade down and still secure Wiggins or McKinstry, or perhaps Cooper DeJean of Iowa or Ennis Rakestraw Jr. of Missouri.

If an edge rusher such as Penn State’s Chip Robinson falls this far, the Eagles could go “best available” and further improve a previous weakness.

Mitchell and Arnold lead The Field, as they’re more likely to be unavailable at No. 22.
