Jaire Alexander 2025 Team Odds: Who Picks Up Star CB?

The last two seasons Jaire Alexander even played half his games as a cornerback for the Green Bay Packers, he’s been named All-Pro.
But that’s been too few and far between. He managed just seven games in 2024, seven in 2023, and only four back in 2021. This season, despite practicing fully at the end of weeks, Jaire would still be unable or unwilling to play.
It led to a realization that it may be best for both Alexander and the Packers to break ties and go in other directions. The Packers made it official on June 9, with word getting out that they will release the CB.
Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has updated his 2025 NFL odds for Alexander following the news of his imminent release.

A lot of teams could use a shutdown cornerback, it’s more an issue of whether Alexander can remain healthy enough to make a difference. Jaire is likely to command $20-25 million annually on the open market; it’s not often a shutdown corner hits the trade market.
The San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders are atop the list of teams with a massive need at CB and the cap space to add such a talent. Only the Patriots and Lions have more cap space than the Niners, while the Raiders also have more than enough and a big goal of improving quickly.
Other teams that likely would want to add Alexander are hovering around $20 million in cap space, and may not win a bidding war, but will surely try. The Los Angeles Rams and Miami Dolphins lead the group, which also includes the Carolina Panthers, the home-state team of the Carolina-raised Alexander.
The Philadelphia Eagles are in the market for a corner and have the cap space, too. If Jaire wants to get a ring, perhaps no spot offers a better chance at that. The Los Angeles Chargers could also make a play and outbid other teams. The same certainly goes for the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions, who have more cap space than everyone else, though CB isn't the most pressing need for either. Alexander could really stick it to the Packers by heading to the Motor City.
The Field includes other teams with a need but perhaps without the cap space to win a free agent competition, including the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
