Here are some things for NFL betting fans to consider in this matchup:

MNF: Giants-49ers Betting Advice

NY Giants Betting Tips

The Giants (1-7) enter Week 10 holding the No.1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft as of now. They’ve earned that pick so far due to their play on both sides of the ball. However, they have played better in the last two weeks, losing to Atlanta by just three and losing to the Redskins by a touchdown.

Depending on the week, the Giants can look like a competent team. But most weeks, this is the clear-cut bottom team in the NFL.

Despite the addition of Saquon Barkley and the good health of Odell Beckham Jr., the Giants are averaging just 18.8 points per game, 27th in the NFL. Quarterback Eli Manning hasn’t played poorly as his offensive line has been a problem once again this season. Manning has already been sacked 31 times, tied for the most ever in his career.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Giants haven’t been much better. The team traded their best front-seven player in Damon Harrison ahead of the trade deadline as well as cornerback Eli Apple.

It is a defense that lacks playmakers and the ability to rush the quarterback. However, there have been times this season where they have looked competent. The game on Monday night may depend on which defense shows up for the Giants this week.

San Francisco 49ers Betting Tips

The 49ers (2-7) entered the season with a lot of hope. They were considered "dark horse" contenders in Super Bowl betting with Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback.

But after Garoppolo was injured in a Week 3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, their playoff hopes went down the drain. The team lost six straight games before last Thursday night when third-string quarterback Nick Mullens helped lead the team to a blow-out win over the Raiders.

The 49ers offense this season hasn’t been terrible as they are averaging 23 points per game, but the injuries on both sides of the ball are holding this team back from being more competitive than what their record suggests. San Francisco is a well-coached team under Kyle Shanahan, but the injury bug has bitten them hard this season, specifically on defense.

On the season, the 49ers are allowing 26.6 points per game, 24th in the NFL. As the injuries mount up, the defense becomes a more significant problem each week. Expect the Giants to be able to hit a few big plays down the field against this banged up defense.

Giants vs 49ers Major Injuries

The Giants will enter Week 10 reasonably healthy. Their only player of note who is "injured" is linebacker Alec Ogletree (hamstring), who will play on Monday Night. He has been a full participant at practice this week.

For the 49ers, they are a little more banged up. Wide receiver Pierre Garon is dealing with a knee injury and missed practice on Thursday. Linebacker Rueben Foster (hamstring) did not practice as well as he is dealing with multiple injuries. He is unlikely to play on Monday night.

Tight end George Kittle has been dealing with a chest injury, but he is expected to suit up versus the Giants.

Point Spread

The 49ers enter Week 10 as a three-point favorite over the Giants, according to 888sport. Essentially, top NFL oddsmakers are telling us that these two teams are similar and that the home-field advantage could be the difference in this one.

Considering that both sides aren't very good, give me the three points and the Giants on the road in this one. Take New York +3 with 888Sport.

Over/Under Total

Not surprisingly, the matchup between the Giants and 49ers has one of the lowest total points of Week 10. According to SugarHouse, the over/under for this contest is 44. Given that these two offenses have struggled this season to score points, that line makes sense.

I can't envision Eli Manning and Nick Mullens getting into a shootout on Monday. For that reason, I'm taking the under at SugarHouse, and I'm expecting this to be a reasonably low-scoring, sloppy game on Monday Night Football.
