New York Giants 2026 Next Coach Odds

The New York Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll today after the team started the season 2-8. The Giants made the playoffs in Daboll’s first year with the squad in 2022, a season where he also won AP NFL Coach of the Year, but after the Giants missed the postseason the past two seasons and badly struggled this year, the Giants decided it was time to make a change and pulled the plug on him.

In the interim, Mike Kafka, who was working as the Giants' assistant head coach and offensive coordinator, has been tabbed as the team’s head coach for now, but the Giants are expected to embark on a full-fledged hunt this offseason for a new team leader.

With the Giants looking for a new head coach in 2026 and beyond, Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has put together hypothetical betting odds for who will be the Giants’ next head coach in 2026.

This hypothetical NFL betting market is for entertainment purposes only and does not reflect any market that may be available on betting sites and betting apps.

Klint Kubiak, Seahawks OC (+500)

Klint Kubiak is the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks this season. The Seahawks are one of the best teams in the NFL, and quarterback Sam Darnold has turned into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL under his play-calling.

Kubiak figures to land a head-coaching gig next season, and the Giants will surely be interested in hiring him for their head-coaching job.

Mike Kafka, Giants OC/Interim HC (+650)

Mike Kafka has been working as the Giants’ assistant head coach and offensive coordinator since Daboll was hired in 2022, but after Daboll was fired, Kafka was elevated to interim head coach.

If the Giants have a positive end to the season and show improvements, perhaps he can get the job full-time next season. At the very least, the fact that he is the interim head coach puts him in the conversation to land the job full-time going forward.

Jesse Minter, Chargers DC (+750)

The Los Angeles Chargers have had a great start to this season, and one of the big reasons why is the improvement of the team’s defense led by defensive coordinator Jesse Minter. He figures to get head-coaching interviews this offseason, and the Giants may be interested.

Kliff Kingsbury, Commanders OC (+800)

Kliff Kingsbury has been the offensive coordinator with the Washington Commanders since 2024, having previously served as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2019-2022. While his first go-around as an NFL head coach didn’t go so well, he figures to get another chance after the Commanders had so much success last year, going to the NFC Championship game before losing to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Mike McDaniel, Dolphins HC (+850)

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel may be operating on borrowed time right now, as the Dolphins have been extremely disappointing this season. The Dolphins may keep McDaniel next year, but it seems more likely he will be fired. If that’s the case, then he will likely get a chance to be the head coach for other NFL teams, and the Giants may be interested in him.

Brian Flores, Vikings DC (+900)

Brian Flores was the former head coach of the Miami Dolphins and is the current defensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings. He has done a tremendous job with the Vikings and will likely get head-coaching interest again this offseason, including possibly with the Giants.

Mike McCarthy, former Cowboys HC (+900)

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is currently working in the media, but he may get another chance to be an NFL head coach. If the Giants want someone with plenty of experience dealing with a big market, then McCarthy could be their man.

Steve Spagnuolo, Chiefs DC (+1000)

Steve Spagnuolo is one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL, having won three Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs in the DC role. Although he hasn’t fared well as an NFL head coach in the past, he may get another shot at it, and a return to the Giants, where he won a Super Bowl as defensive coordinator during the 2007 season, could be in the cards.

Jeff Hafley, Packers DC (+1200)

Jeff Hafley has been the defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers for the past two seasons. He will likely get head-coaching interviews this season, perhaps with the Giants.

Dabo Swinney, Clemson HC (+1350)

Dabo Swinney has been the head coach at Clemson since 2008, making him one of the longest-tenured head coaches in college football. If he wants the chance to coach in the NFL, then the New York Giants’ job would certainly be of interest to the college football legend.

Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss HC (+1400)

Lane Kiffin is one of the top coaches in college football, having been the HC at Ole Miss since 2020. That being said, a return to the NFL isn’t out of the question. He previously coached for the Oakland Raiders in 2007-2008, going 5-15 before being fired, but after so many years away from the big leagues, a return to the pros is certainly a possibility.

Jon Gruden, Former Raiders HC (+1400)

Jon Gruden had some baggage attached to him, but the former Las Vegas Raiders head coach has a ton of experience and a Super Bowl ring from his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite the baggage, he may still get another shot to be a head coach in the NFL, and the Giants could be interested in hiring him.

Bill Belichick, No. Carolina HC (+1500)

The most experienced head coach on this list is Bill Belichick, the North Carolina head coach who won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. Belichick didn’t get an NFL head coaching job during the last coaching cycle, and he chose to go to college football instead. But if he wants to come back to the NFL, then the Giants’ head coaching gig would certainly be a viable one for the legend.
