This past week of the NFL season featured several lower-scoring games as weather conditions are starting to become relevant. As a general tip, try to avoid games and players that will be competing in strong winds and rain as it dramatically lowers the scoring output when playing Daily Fantasy Sports.

NFL Week 9 could have some more weather problems, so we will focus on picking players in domes or in good-weather stadiums. To help you find success in DFS, here are our best plays for this weekend, with prices from DraftKings.

Best Week 9 DFS QB

Chargers QB Justin Herbert ($6,800 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Raiders at Chargers

Since Week 2, there haven't been many quarterbacks better in DFS than Justin Herbert of the Chargers. He's averaging an absurd 27 points per game and has scored 14 TDs in his last four games. He's exceeded 23 points in those four games, with his biggest performance coming in Week 7 against the Jaguars. He’s been fantastic this season as the Chargers have now scored at least 27 points in four-straight games.

In Week 9, the Chargers will take on the Raiders, and Herbert should be able to expose their young and banged-up secondary. The Raiders held down Baker Mayfield in Week 8, but that was mostly due to strong winds that forced both teams to rely heavily on their rushing attacks.

Expect Herbert to clear 300 passing yards once again and get into the end zone multiple times on Sunday. Look for the game between the Chargers and the Raiders to be among the highest-scoring contests of the week.

Best Week 9 DFS RB

Steelers RB James Conner ($6,900 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Steelers at Cowboys

In Week 9, the Steelers will take on the Cowboys, who just so happen to the league's worst defense. In Week 8, Dallas allowed 119 yards on the ground, which was actually one of their better defensive performances this season. In previous weeks, they allowed 128 yards to Antonio Gibson and 164 yards to Kenyan Drake.

James Conner had a rough outing against the Ravens last week, but he is set up to have a monster game here in Week 9 as the Steelers should run away with this game. It’s worth noting that Conner has totaled 606 yards and five TDs in the last six weeks despite games against strong defenses. Look for Conner to eclipse 20 touches and to see multiple red zone carries in this contest. The Cowboys allow a ton of points to opposing running backs. Don’t be surprised if he finishes as the No. 1 running back this week.

Best Week 9 DFS WR

Chargers WR Mike Williams ($5,100 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Raiders at Chargers

If you are going to play Justin Herbert at QB this week, consider playing one of his top receivers. Between Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, the latter is much cheaper and may possess more upside. Williams had a massive game against Denver's defense last week, totaling 100 yards and a score. This week he draws a lesser defense, and he has traditionally had a ton of success against the Raiders.

Look for Williams to see close to double-digit targets in Week 9 and to score at least one TD in this game. Williams has gone over 100 yards in two of the last three weeks and has scored three TDs during that time. He appears to be over his shoulder injury and is a strong WR 2 this week against one of the NFL’s worst cornerback groups.

Best Week 9 DFS TE

Falcons TE Hayden Hurst ($4,100 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Broncos at Falcons

Finding a viable tight end for Week 9 is extremely difficult if you decide not to pay for Travis Kelce or Darren Waller. However, one of the better options this week is Atlanta’s Hayden Hurst. He has been consistent as of late, catching at least four passes and going over 50 yards in three straight games. In fact, he’s gone over 50 yards in five of his seven games this season.

Hurst will face a Broncos defense that has been good against tight ends this season. However, Denver could be in some trouble this week as they will have to deal with Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Look for Hurst to notch about 50 yards and to get a few red zone opportunities in what should be a high-scoring game.

Best Week 9 DFS FLEX

Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy ($4,700 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Broncos at Falcons

It’s been a relatively quiet season for rookie receiver Jerry Jeudy, but he did have the best game of his career in Week 8 against the Chargers. On the season, he has just 359 receiving yards and one TD in seven games. He hasn’t been 100 percent healthy, but it appears he is getting back on track after a strong game last week. Jeudy saw a season-high 10 targets and totaled 70 yards against one of the better pass defenses in the NFL.

In Week 9, the Broncos visit the Falcons, who have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. With Tim Patrick likely out of the lineup due to an injury, Jeudy should see double-digit targets and he should be able to reach the end zone at least once.
