Baltimore will be buzzing with playoff hope as the Ravens are still alive, all they need is a win and a loss for the Chargers, Colts, and Dolphins. Pittsburgh also has some life left, as they need a win and a Colts loss to clinch. It’s a little surprising to see most sportsbooks put the Ravens as such a large favorite, mainly because both teams need this game.

Lamar Jackson has a chance to play this week, but the line would suggest he’s back. It’s extremely difficult to make NFL picks without knowing if a star like Jackson is playing, but Baltimore has just about survived without him.

This is a week full of division matchups so a lot of NFL spreads will reflect who is hurt/out with COVID more than anything else. There is significant risk in NFL betting regardless of who is healthy, especially late in the season, so keep an eye on Jackson’s status as a determining factor.

Take a look at Ravens vs Steelers odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

Steelers vs Ravens Key Matchups

Baltimore and the Run Game: The Ravens are hoping to get Jackson back from his ankle injury as they have the fifth-best rush offense in the NFL. Baltimore also has the top-rated rush defense in the league.

Ravens Rush vs Ben’s Trigger: Nobody gets the ball out faster this year than Ben Roethlisberger, mainly because his pass protection has been non-existent. The Ravens are 32nd in the league in stopping the pass, so expect Pittsburgh to take advantage.

Ravens and the Shootout: Baltimore can run as well as any team, but they also throw the ball – ranking 12th in the NFL in pass offense. The Ravens total the seventh-best overall offense in the NFL.

Steelers vs Ravens Key Stats

84.8: Nobody stops the run better than the Ravens. They make it increasingly difficult for each team to move the ball on the ground, giving up just 84.8 yards per game. It’s a stark contrast from what they give up in the air.

296.4: No team in the NFL gives up more passing yards each game than the Ravens with the 32nd-worst pass defense. The Steelers don’t have a ton of downfield weapons, but enough quick passes can certainly wear down the Ravens.

28th: Despite having Najee Harris, the Steelers are 28th in the NFL in rushing the football.

31st: After beating the Browns this past Monday night, the Steelers climbed up from 32nd to now 31st in defending the run. They give up nearly 140 YPG on the ground.

9: In 15 games played this season, Roethlisberger is only on the hook for 9 interceptions.

24: In just 12 games this season, Jackson has 24 carries that gained at least 10 yards.

Steelers vs Ravens Moneyline

There is a lot of value on the underdog here simply because of a return just short of 2-to-1, combined with both teams needing the game. Granted the Ravens are always better off with Jackson on the field, but the Steelers are riding decent momentum and have arguably the DPOY in T.J. Watt.

Baltimore has a legit edge at home against a division foe and would be a solid moneyline play in a parlay. The edge may be to jump in on Pittsburgh early in the week with the hope that Jackson is out, and getting ahead of line movement.

Steelers vs Ravens Spread

This may be the chance to take the Steelers no matter what the situation is with Jackson and his ankle. With betting sites giving the Steelers anything north of three points, it might be the best move to jump early on the spread with little movement.

Jackson returning isn’t going to push this north of six points. If Jackson is out, then Baltimore laying 5 points seems silly and a dangerous play against Pittsburgh.

Steelers vs Ravens Total

If this game is any reflection of what we saw on Monday night between the Browns and Steelers, we should slam the under. Baltimore loves to run, they do it exceptionally well, but can throw the ball too. Pittsburgh throws a lot, but they are short and quick completions – similar to runs.

Baltimore is so bad at defending the pass that Pittsburgh should get a couple more opportunities to stretch the field. Pittsburgh will not give up on running Harris but will easily shift to throwing him the ball. If we do see Jackson, this game is an easy over. Without him, it’s just a little harder to get there.
