The Russell Wilson era is over in Seattle after the Seahawks traded their nine-time Pro Bowler and 10-year veteran to the Denver Broncos. In exchange, the Seahawks got slew of draft picks, including two first rounders and two second rounders. They also got a QB: Drew Lock.

Lock has shown signs that he can be a starting-caliber QB in the NFL, but certainly not the consistency. In three seasons and 21 starts, he has 25 TDs and 20 INTs and an 8-13 record. He led the NFL in interceptions in 2020 with 15, in only 13 games played.

Will the Seahawks ride with Lock or are they just getting started for a crazy offseason?

Lock was effective at Missouri, throwing for over 12,000 yards with 99 TDs to just 39 INTs. It hasn’t been as smooth sailing at the pro level. In 2021 he started the Broncos’ final three games, going 0-3 with one passing TD.

Suffice to say, the Seahawks could have trepidation declaring they’re “all-in” with Lock.

The Seahawks also just acquired the No. 9 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. If they really like Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett or Liberty’s Malik Willis, one of them is likely to still be on the board. Carolina is picking at No. 6 overall and may go QB as well, but one of these two should be there when the Seahawks are on the clock.

If Seattle chooses to go another route at the draft, there are other options via free agency or trade. Free agent Jameis Winston could get the nod over Lock.

The Browns’ Baker Mayfield is disgruntled and wants out of Cleveland. It won’t take a first-rounder to get him at this point.
