Now, they are tipped with Bet365 as the -450 soccer betting favorite in UEFA Champions League outrights to lift the trophy, the coveted golden chalice of the top-tier European club competition that has eluded them and their manager Pep Guardiola so far – well, at least since departing La Liga and his boyhood club Barcelona.

Standing in Man City’s way of glory in the UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul next Saturday are Serie A stalwarts, Inter Milan.

Though the Italians aren’t being given a reasonable shot at all as we look at the Champions League odds board where they are available to back at +333 in sports betting app.

Manchester City vs Inter Milan Winner Odds

Nothing is guaranteed in sport, especially winning one of the most prestigious competitions such as the UEFA Champions League.

Man City have captured the imagination of soccer fans everywhere, with everyone and their grandmothers crowning them in their minds as the champions well in advance. And, yes, the markets are cornering the final with them, too. Refusing to give Inter a reasonable shot to win inside of 90 minutes.

The potential of winning the treble has led to the hijacking of the narrative, to the point that Inter are being overlooked entirely.

But it’s a one-off game at a neutral venue. Anything can happen over the course of 90 minutes and if need be an additional 30 minutes and/or a penalty shootout. The unthinkable even.

Champions League Final Preview: Man City vs Inter Milan

Man City’s stellar 2022-23 campaign is poised to write its final chapter. They won their third consecutive Premier League title with three games to spare and then defeated city rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Saturday, June 3 to complete the domestic double.<

Man City are riding a 24-game unbeaten streak (W20, D4) across all competitions, a run of form that has them looking irresistible as the heavy favorites at -220 with FanDuel sportsbook to win inside of 90 minutes.

In a season that delivered plenty of memorable fixtures, one stands out in particular. That is, the second leg of the Citizens’ Champions League semi-final tie against holders Real Madrid. In which Guardiola’s lads threw down the gauntlet to hand Los Blancos a 4-0 defeat (one of Real’s worst losses in the competition) at the Etihad and take the tie 5-1 on aggregate.

Arguably, there was no victory more symbolic for Man City this season. That went beyond the simple ambition of meting out revenge over the Spanish giants for last year’s defeat at the very same stage of the competition.

Man City have been on an upward trajectory since Sheikh Mansour acquired the club in 2008. And on that fateful day at the Etihad, in front of a raucous crowd, it somehow felt that all the years of hard work and progress, interspersed by frustration and heartbreak, had culminated to deliver them to this key moment.

It's fair to say that Man City may never get a better chance to win the Champions League  -- with Inter Milan standing in their way.  Or likely, for that matter, to rival Manchester United, the only Premier League side to complete the treble in 1999 during Sir Alex Ferguson’s hayday.

In the eyes of many, Man City is one of the best teams in soccer (or football as it is known across the pond)  – if not THE best. The squad is littered with soccer’s glitterati, infinitely talented and enormously skilful. Players such as Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker, to name a few.

But on the other side of the coin, stand Inter Milan – a side that is being egbacregiously underestimated across the sportsbook exchange and in soccer-betting circles.

Inter have known Champions League success before. They won this competition three times in the club’s history. Admittedly, it is the first time in 13 years that the Nerazzurri find themselves in the final again, on the precipice of a potential fourth title.

Simone Inzaghi’s men are riding a wave of confidence after winning 11 of their last 12 fixtures., including both legs of their Champions League semi-final tie against AC Milan (3-0 on aggregate). The only setback during this brilliant spell was a loss to Serie A champions Napoli.

They aren’t short on star power either with Romelo Lukaku, Edin Dzeko, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Lautaro Martinez, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Francesco Acerbi leading the way.

Inter’s backline is solid as highlighted by their five clean sheets in the knockouts.

That defensive prowess is going to be key against the free-scoring Citizens, who can pile on the goals seemingly on a whim. But Inter are sneaky explosive up front when playing two twinkle-toed forwards at the same time, with Lukaku, Dzeko or Lautaro prowling for opportunities to pounce.

Man City vs Inter Milan Prediction

Put it another way, Inter triumphing over Man City is not beyond the realm of possibility. Though it is a longshot bet that only a brave bettor would back.

Are you feeling brave?
