The R16 concludes on Day 9 of the French Open. At the same time, the remaining four spots of the men’s and women’s quarterfinal round will be decided. Who will advance?

All eyes will be on last year’s finalist Casper Ruud and Danish star Holger Rune – a win by each of them would set up a rematch of last year’s heated French Open quarterfinal. On the women’s side, defending champion Iga Swiatek will hope to take a step closer to a potential third French Open title when she takes on Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko.

We will be bringing you daily predictions and tennis picks from Roland-Garros here at Bookies.com.

So without further ado, let’s take a deep dive into Monday's tennis-betting card and spot the best French Open Day 9 predictions, complete with tennis odds from the top-rated betting apps

Holger Rune vs. Francisco Cerundolo

Holger Rune is through to the R16 of a wide open section of the draw. The Danish star was in blistering form on Saturday, dismissing Genaro Olivieri in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, 6-3. He will look to carry the momentum against Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo, who rallied from a set down to send American Taylor Fritz packing, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.

Cerundolo, a clay specialist, is a potential stumbling block for  Rune. The 24-year-old Argentine notched wins over Cam Norrie, Jannik Sinner and last year’s French Open finalist Casper Ruud during the European clay swing. Adding Rune to that list wouldn’t be beyond his remit, though it is going to be a lot harder to do in the best-of-five scenario.

The Pick: Rune in five sets

Nicolas Jarry vs. Casper Ruud

Casper Ruud appears to be finally finding form after a season rife with struggle at the French Open, the scene of his maiden Grand Slam final appearance last year. In the R32, he, arguably, played his best match, coming from a set down to defeat Zhizhen Zhang, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-4.

Next up is Nicolas Jarry, a player he lost to in the Geneva quarterfinals a fortnight ago and who eventually went on to claim the title in the Swiss capital. Jarry, at 27 years of age, is playing some of the best tennis of his career, a fact that is underscored further by his first-ever run into the second week of a major at the French Open.

If their last meeting were any indication, this matchup could very well turn into a slugfest that goes the distance. Ruud should win on the strength of his top credentials and experience at this level. But Jarry could win. Thus, extending his Cinderella run into the final four.

The Pick: Over 39.5

Grigor Dimitrov vs. Alexander Zverev

Veteran Grigor Dimitrov capitalized on a very favorable quarter of the draw. He has avoided a seeded player up to this point and advances into the final 16 without dropping a set.

But you can bet things are going to get tougher for him in the next round with Alexander Zverev, a former World No. 2 and US Open finalist, looming. Zverev advanced into the fourth round after rallying from a set down to defeat No. 12 seed Frances Tiafoe, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-1, 7-6 (5).

The German, who is seeded No. 22, has seen his ranking plunge due to an extended injury timeout – he missed seven months after suffering an ankle injury in last year’s French Open semi-final against Rafael Nadal. It’s been a long road back for him since, but he finally appears to be rounding out into form and somewhat fittingly at the French Open – the scene of his horrible, season-ending injury.

The Pick: Zverev To Win

Bernarda Pera vs. Ons Jabeur

Tunisian trailblazer Ons Jabeur is through to the R16 without facing a seeded player and that trend is set to continue as she comes up against unseeded American Bernarda Pera. On paper, this is a total mismatch with Jabeur easily favored to win and advance into the quarterfinals. However, the pressure of the occasion and the weight of expectations can get to Jabeur. It’s not unusual to see severe momentum shifts or streaky play in her matches.

The Pick: Over 20.5

Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova vs. Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff notched a confidence-boosting win as she defeated Mirra Andreeva in the R32, storming back from a set down to win the battle of teenagers 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-1. Now, she is one-win away from setting up a blockbuster quarterfinal showdown with Iga Swiatek – what would be a rematch of last year’s final.

Standing in Gauff’s way is veteran Slovak Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova, who defied the odds to upset No. 11 seed Veronika Kudermetova in the first round and hasn’t looked back since. Schmiedlova is no wilting flower and could give Gauff a run for her money. However, the American should persevere.

The Pick: Schmiedlova +5.5

Iga Swiatek vs. Lesia Tsurenko

Iga Swiatek is handing out bagels in Paris. She beat her first two opponents with the same scoreline: 6-4, 6-0. Then, she double bagled Xinyu Wang in the R32.

Lesia Tsurenko punched above her weight class to reach the R16, but this is likely the end of the road for the Ukrainian. Only last month in Rome, she too got the bagel treatment from Swiatek in a 6-2, 6-0 loss.

So, the question isn’t whether Swiatek will win but rather how convincingly will she do it?

The Pick: Swiatek -8.5
