A 20,000-square-foot Caesars sportsbook being constructed at downtown Phoenix’s Chase Field is expected to usher in a new era for Arizona sports betting.

That’s because the venue, which is slated to open its doors inside the former Game 7 Grill in early 2022, will become a full-service sportsbook operation, complete with indoor and outdoor seating across two floors, with 1,500-square-feet of LED screens and more for patrons.

The space, which will not be accessible to fans during Diamondbacks home games, will be open year-round, with flexible hours of operations, according to a news release.

“Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field will bring to life the vision of our brand by celebrating the Caesars promise of treating everyone like royalty,” Eric Hession, co-president of Caesars Digital, said in the release.

“These renderings provide a taste of what this incredible new venue will offer, but there’s so much more we can’t wait to show Arizona customers when the space officially opens. Sports bettor or not, we’re hoping fans will visit to enjoy an unbeatable experience.”

Sports betting is expected to launch in the state just after midnight on Thursday. Promo offers from sportsbooks will give bettors plenty of time to place NFL bets before the season begins Thursday night.

Chase Field Experience

The Caesars Chase Field sportsbook will feature indoor and outdoor dining facilities and multiple bars for patrons.

For those seeking a more luxurious experience, Caesars will have a private bar available in the facility’s VIP lounge, the release said.

Additionally, visitors to the sportsbook can place MLB bets at one of the kiosks within the facility, or on the Caesars Sportsbook app.

What to Expect on Thursday

The facility may not be ready for operation until next year, but Caesars is planning on accepting sports betting wagers once it goes live Thursday.

Until the opening date, bettors can place bets at Chase Field at ticket windows 21-25, with the downtown stadium becoming the first MLB facility to allow in-person wagers.

Caesars launched its sportsbook application in Arizona for early registration on Aug. 28, allowing bettors to take advantage of offers, in addition to registering their accounts and depositing funds, so they can hit the ground running come Thursday.

The new facility is a win-win for the D-backs, team President & CEO Derrick Hall said, as it opens a new spot for sports fans to congregate in downtown Phoenix.

“The Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field will be the premier sports betting and entertainment destination in downtown Phoenix,” Hall said in the release. “D-backs fans, Arizona residents, and out-of-state visitors, whether they are sports bettors or not, should look forward to this state-of-the-art, year-round location that will feature a first-class dining, betting and hospitality experience – all while taking in their favorite sporting event or watching their favorite team. This sportsbook will transform the sports viewing experience in Arizona.”
