Hollywood Casino 400 Odds & Predictions for NASCAR at Kansas

Welcome to the Championship 4, Kyle Larson. The Hendrick driver punched his ticket to the finale of the NASCAR Playoffs last weekend at Texas, winning for the eighth time this season. And he further entrenched himself as title favorite in NASCAR betting, with his +150 odds of winning it all in Phoenix easily outdistancing the +450 found at sportsbooks for his closest pursuer, Denny Hamlin.

The three drivers who will join Larson in that title round will be determined over the next two races, beginning Sunday at Kansas Speedway, a 1.5-mile tri-oval similar to the one the series visited last weekend in Fort Worth. Hamlin, Ryan Blaney (+500) and Kyle Busch (+650) round out the top four drivers in NASCAR odds title futures, but the margins remain narrow, as evidenced last season, when nine-time race winner Kevin Harvick was knocked out of the championship chase in the season’s penultimate event.

No surprise, Larson is also the odds favorite at betting sites for the Kansas race, even though he’s never won on a track where his average finish is 18th. But it was a similar story at Texas, where Larson won for the third time this season on a 1.5-mile tri-oval. So don’t count him out anywhere, especially with nothing to lose and the 10-win mark (last reached by Jimmie Johnson in 2007) dangling out there.

Best Bet: Chase Elliott to Win

Odds: +800 at BetMGM

Granted, this has been a rough stretch for the reigning series champion. He was in the wrong place when rain fell to shorten the race at Talladega, fell behind on pit strategy after winning the opening stage at the Roval, and then salvaged seventh at Texas after starting at the back due to inspection failures.

The speed, though, is still there. That much was evident in his runner-up result at Las Vegas, before his recent run of headaches began. Elliott is also very good at Kansas, where he won in 2018, has finished lower than sixth just once over his last seven starts and has earned more points over the past five races than any other driver.

While it would be easy right now to grab Larson every week on your favorite {anchor("betting apps","BDC - EN - Article",20985,"","","","gtm-content-internal-links") !!}, Elliott is a regular contender at Kansas and should be again on Sunday. Bet on him at BetMGM.

Six active drivers have won multiple races at Kansas, with Hamlin, Harvick and Joey Logano leading the pack with three each. While Harvick has enjoyed recent success there with back-to-back runner-up finishes, it would be tough to back a non-playoff driver at this point given the urgency the championship contenders are feeling to win. Logano won at Kansas in 2020, presents good value at +1600 this week and was on his way to a third straight high playoff finish until his engine blew at Texas.

As for Hamlin, there’s always inconsistency to consider. He won back-to-back races at Kansas in 2019 and 2020 but has finished 15th and 12th there since. Hamlin also wasn’t quite at the same level as the leaders in the final laps at Texas, despite late contact with Chase Briscoe. A better option might be Busch, who won the most recent race at Kansas in May, has placed fifth or better in four of his last six there and has finished eighth or better in three of the last four playoff events.

It’s also time to keep an eye on Blaney, who’s surged to second in the standings on the strength of top-10 runs in five of his last six events. While his Kansas record isn’t great – four of his last five finishes there have been 20th or worse – he’s good on bigger tracks and has two Penske teammates who have won there.

One of those is Brad Keselowski, who’s been fourth or better in four of his last five at Kansas, and has seen a noticeable recent uptick in performance. Our three best bets would be Elliott to win at +800, Busch top-3 at +110 and Logano top Ford at +400.
