Mobile sports betting is launching in Indiana on Oct. 3, so bettors will be able to put action on numerous games involving local teams.

The state announced Wednesday that mobile sports bets can be placed through French Lick Casino’s sportsbook run by Chicago-based Rush Street Interactive next week, the Indianapolis Star reported.

Fans of NFL betting and the Colts can place bets on the Oct. 6 game between the Colts, now 2-1, against the Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) in Week 5 action. The game is in Kansas City.

While many sportsbooks have not been showing the Colts much love this season, only putting them as a small favorite in several games, sports bettors have enjoyed backing the spread-covering team.

The day before the Colts game, college football bettors can gamble on Notre Dame (currently 2-1) playing host to the Bowling Green Falcons (1-3). The Purdue Boilermakers (currently 1-2) will face the Penn State Nittany Lions (3-0) on the road in a Big Ten game. The Indiana Hoosiers (3-1 currently) face Rutgers (1-2) in a home game on Oct. 12.

Of course, we can’t mention the Hoosier State without talking about college basketball betting. Mobile sports betting will launch in Indiana just ahead of the college basketball season opening.

On Nov. 5, the Indiana Hoosiers, who have 80-1 national title odds from PointsBet, kick off their season with a home game against the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

For its season opener on Nov. 6, the Fighting Irish face the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill. Notre Dame has 100-1 odds to win the national championship according to PointsBet.

On Nov. 11, Purdue will battle the Green Bay Phoenix in a home game. The Boilermakers have better odds, 50-1, to win the national championship, according to PointsBet.

For fans of NBA betting, the Indiana Pacers kick off their preseason on Oct. 4 against the Sacramento Kings. The Pacers begin the regular season on Oct. 23 at home against the Detroit Pistons.

Indiana Sports Betting Moves Quickly

Sports betting was legalized in Indiana last May and was implemented just in time for the NFL regular season on Sept. 1. The state is up to 13 sportsbooks. Indiana is now just days away from launching mobile sports betting at French Lick Casino.

Current in-person sportsbooks in Indiana include the Tropicana Evansville, Harrah’s Hoosier Park, Pub and Off Track Betting and Winner’s Circle Brew.

Rush Street Interactive is partnered with the French Lick Casino and currently operates its retail sportsbook. It also operates in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Several other casino companies are in the process of submitting proposals for mobile sports betting, but French Lick is the first one to complete the Indiana Gaming Commission’s strict regulatory conditions necessary to launch mobile betting.

French Lick Casino’s Offerings

The sportsbook at the French Lick Casino offers betting on nearly every professional sport. In addition, unlike some other states, sports betting in Indiana includes NCAA Division I sports. Mobile sports betting will include all those sports, including NCAA.

The French Lick Casino has not provided details for registering to bet via mobile device, but specifics should be released soon.

Of course, usual rules will apply. Players must be 21 years or older; bettors must be located within the state to make wagers (geofencing technology will be used to ensure players’ location); and bettors will need to provide personal identification to create an account.
