Week 14 of the NFL betting season means that multiple teams will be teetering on seeing their seasons fall to the wayside, as others aim for the playoffs and more.

The week begins with an OG Black-And-Blue Division matchup that has the Detroit Lions playing host to the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field on Thursday night. The Packers haven’t gone anywhere in the NFC North, either.

Detroit (11-1) holds the best record in the NFC and continues to be ferocious against the spread. The Lions are tied for the best record in the NFL against the spread at 9-3 ATS.

The national game of the week on Sunday has the Buffalo Bills visiting the Los Angeles Rams on FOX (4:25 p.m.) Sunday night, the LA Chargers take their highly touted defense to Kansas City.

On Monday night, the Bengals visit Dallas. Someone messed up with that one.

Six teams are on the bye this week: Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans

2024 NFL Week 14 Best Bets: Game-By-Game Analysis

NFL Week 14 Picks, Betting Predictions & Best Bets To Back: Playoffs? 2

Thursday, December 5
Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions, 8:15 p.m. (Amazon Prime)

Buzz: The Lions (11-1, 5-1 at home) will clinch home field and a first-round bye in the NFC if they win the rest of the way. But the Eagles continue to hover, just one game back in the NFC. Both the Lions and Packers are coming off the mini-bye. The Lions beat Chicago, and cost Matt Eberflus his job, on Thanksgiving. The Packers froze the Fish in Green Bay on Black Friday. The crowd at Ford Field will be hysterical and lubricated before this one kicks. The Lions beat Green Bay 24-14 at Lambeau Field in Week 9. Neither team has lost since. Jordan Love and the Packers will do their best to hang with Jared Goff’s flying circus. And Dan Campbell’s claws-first defense. Detroit ran for 194 yards agains the Bears on Thanksgiving but only scored once in the second half. The Packers are giving up just 20 PPG. And they have the book on Detroit. Thus, the tighter-than-expected line here. Even indoors, both defenses will keep in close. And both offenses will keep it on the ground.

Best Bet: Under 51.5 Points (-110) ESPN BET

Sunday, December 8
Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: This time of year, the NFL weekly schedule is littered with multiple stray dogs. These games offer little to viewers. Sometimes there is hidden value for bettors. Sometimes, you get games like this. The Jaguars will look to Mac Jones at QB, as Trevor Lawrence could miss this one due to the vicious hit he took Sunday. The Titans have the worst record of any NFL team ATS at 2-10. The Jaguars are 6-5 on the line, despite their 2-10 record SU. We'll take the points here.

Best Bet: Jaguars +4.5 (-110)  bet365

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: ‘Tis the season to watch the Jets accelerate their annual free-fall. Gang Green (3-9) visits the Dolphins in what will likely be warm and humid conditions on the sunny side of Hard Rock Stadium. The Jets blew a 21-7 lead at home in their 26-21 loss to former QB Geno Smith. Aaron Rodgers self-immolated in the second half, along with the Jets defense. The Dolphins (5-7) will be warm and thawed at home, after their mini-bye and Black Friday loss to Green Bay. The Jets are one of a handful of get-right teams in the NFL. And they're making a late-season visit to South Florida. One that is always fraught with peril

Best Bet: Dolphins -6.5 (-108)  DraftKings

Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Kirk Cousins returns to Minnesota. The Vikings have moved on just fine without him, going 10-2 in their first dozen games with Sam Darnold at QB. Sam Darnold? Who says you can’t take the “Jets” out of the player? The Vikings are 5-1 at home. They're just one game behind Detroit in the race for the NFC North and the (slim) possibility for a first-round bye and home field. This one is a must. The Falcons have begun their late-season descent in the NFC South, having lost and failed to cover in 3 straight games.

Best Bet: Vikings -4.5 (-110)  FanDuel

New Orleans at New York Giants, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Big Blue meets Code Blue. Speaking of late season "stray dogs," we get a pair of mutts at MetLife this week. The Giants are testing the will of the Mara Family, which has made it clear it won't be firing Brian Daboll during the season. The Saints (4-8) have won 2 of 3 before giving up 21 points to the Rams in a 21-14 loss to the Rams. The Saints lost their human Swiss Army Knife Taysom Hill to injury in that one. The good news for New Orleans is that the Giants have scored more than 21 points only once since Week 5.

Best Bet: Saints -4 (-110)  bet365

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: Two weeks ago, Jameis Winston and the Browns upset the Steelers in a snow globe alongside Lake Erie in Cleveland. The Steelers are 9-3 SU and tied for the best record in the NFL at 9-3 ATS. In addtion to being 4-1 at home. They will have both the elements and the environment of Acrisure Stadium on their side here. The Browns played Monday night. Pittsburgh's defense holds a major edge here. And the Steelers are starting to flex on offense. Russ is cooking. Just ask George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth. Those two targets, along with running back Najee Harris, will be enough to keep the Browns' defense guessing. The forecast calls for partly-cloudy and cool conditions. This game carries all the heat of any NFL rivalry. The Steelers are still smarting over the snow job they suffered in Cleveland. But not enough to cover this number. It is the largest number of points the Steelers have given up on the line all season. Too many for a traditional rock-fight such as this.

Best Bet: Browns +6.5 (-105)  ESPN BET

Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Panthers "almost" stunned the Chiefs 2 weeks ago in regulation. They "almost" upset the Buccaneers Sunday. Carolina lost both games due to field goals on the game's final play. “Almost” is all you can ask for these days in Carolina. But the Panthers have covered in 4 straight games, including their lone 2 wins of the season in early November. The Eagles are too experienced and well-coached to be looking beyond anyone here toward their game next week against in-state rival Pittsburgh next week. Philly has won 8 straight and has also covered in its past 4 games. But this number is the largest the Eagles have faced all season as favorites. Philly wants to run the ball and the clock here. Bryce Young and the Panthers' defense can deliver the back door cover here. The Eagles have failed to cover in 7 straight at home against teams with a losing record.

Best Bet: Panthers +12.5 (-110)  bet365

Las Vegas Raiders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Baker Mayfield has the Bucs cooking just in time for the NFC South and NFC playoff race. Tampa Bay is getting healthier each week. The Bucs offense at home against a Mountain/West team with an early kickoff should over perform. Tampa Bay has covered in 3 of 4 games, both giving and getting points. The Raiders (2-10) have lost 8 straight and only covered on a number this small just once during that span. The Buccaneers often sputter after a win. But Tampa Bay is getting stronger each week and appears to make another late-season run to the NFC South title. The Raiders were in Florida just 3 weeks ago and got wrecked in Miami 34-19 in another East Coast, early-start game. Fire The Cannons!

Best Bet: Buccaneers -7 (-112)  DraftKings

Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The lead in the NFC West is at stake here. The Seahawks (7-5) rallied to beat the mess known as the Jets 26-21 after trailing 21-7. The Cardinals (6-6) gave up a TD to 1:13 to play in a 23-22 loss at Minnesota on Sunday. The Seahawks kept Kyler Murray’s offense out of the end zone in their 16-6 over the Cardinals in Seattle 2 weeks ago.  In this rematch, the Cardinals get the Seahawks in the climate-friendly environment of State Farm Stadium. The Cardinals held Minnesota to just 68 yards rushing Sunday. That's crucial to keep Seattle QB Geno Smith honest. The Seahawks have beaten the Cardinals 6 straight times. And the road team has covered in 7 of 8 Seahawks games.

Best Bet: Seahawks +3 (-120)  ESPN BET

Buffalo Bills at Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: Jim Nantz and Tony Romo call it from SoFi Stadium in what could well be a home-away-from-home game for Josh Allen and the Bills. It comes complete with table-dives in the parking lot. Buffalo trails Kansas City by just one game for the best record in the AFC. And this time, the BIlls own the tiebreaker. Buffalo plowed under San Francisco 35-10 Sunday night. Allen threw for a TD, ran for a TD, and caught a TD pass (sort of). Expect a similar performance by the Bills against another NFC West foe. Without the snow and cold. The Rams rallied to beat New Orleans on Sunday. But the Bills are heavenly this season both straight up (10-2) and ATS (8-4). The Bills have won 9 straight and covered in 7 of 8 games as favorites.

Best Bet: Bills -4 (-110)  bet365

Chicago Bears at San Francisco 49ers, 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: Two of the saddest stories in the NFL collide this week at Levi's Stadium. The Post-Super-Bowl-Loss hangover claims its latest victim this year in the San Francisco 49ers. The defending NFC champs have been vexed by crucial injuries all season. And other challenges. They are 5-7 and falling fast out of the NFC playoff race. Things just never clicked for Kyle Shanahan’s team after its OT loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 58. On to 2025. The 49ers got buried in a Buffalo snowbank on Sunday 35-10. Even worse, it appears Christian McCaffrey was lost for season due to an injury to the posterior cruciate ligament in his knee. The Bears finally put Matt Eberflus out of their and his misery after a disastrous Thanksgiving loss to Detroit. Eberflus will always have that final time out. The 4-8 Bears have lost 7 straight on the road, but the Niners have failed to cover in 4 straight. Chicago is primed for the interim-coach bounce back cover - if not win.

Best Bet: Bears +5.5 (-110)  bet365

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs, 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

Buzz: The Chargers (8-7) got no help from the schedule-maker in the final half of the NFL season. The Bolts visit Kansas City (11-1) just 2 weeks after losing to Baltimore at home and scoring an impressive road win at Atlanta. If Jim Harbaugh wanted a soft schedule, he could have stayed in the Big Ten at Michigan and played Ohio State a dozen times per season. The Chargers have the top scoring defense in the NFL, giving up just 15.7 points per game. Despite holding the best record in the AFC, the Chiefs are just 5-7 on the line this season. KC has won 14 straight one-score games but has not covered the spread since October 20, six straight games. The Chargers have covered in 5 of 6. This number is finally in line as to what one might expect given the circumstances. Sadly for the Chiefs, and Roger Goodell, Taylor Swift will be playing the final stop of her Eras Tour in Vancouver Sunday night. Oddsmakers are hanging their hopes on the hook here at 3.5 points. Weather will not be a factor in this one. Hold on tight.

Best Bet: Chiefs -3.5 (-110)  DraftKings

Cincinnati Bengals at Dallas Cowboys, 8:15 p.m. (ABC)

Buzz: Can this one be flexed to March?

Best Bet: Cowboys +6 (-110) bet365
