It’s last call for golf betting on the PGA Tour in 2021, with the final stop of the calendar year this week in the RSM Classic at Sea Island Resort.

With the exception of Tiger Woods’ Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas next month, this is the last time we’ll see the pros hit it around until the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions in early January.

Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite at sportsbooks with +1000 odds coming off his T-2 finish at last week’s Houston Open. Webb Simpson is next with +1200 odds at betting sites, while Cameron Smith is +1400 and Louis Oosthuizen is +1600.

Corey Conners finishes out the top five at +2200, while Harris English and Russell Henley are +2500.

RSM Classic Historical Odds & Results

Past golf odds tell us that while long shots have won here – notably Robert Streb a year ago at +30000 – betting favorites have done quite well overall.

The RSM doesn’t draw top-10 players with consistency, but includes a staple of guys who either live in the area or consistently do so well in this tournament they might as well take up residency. Webb Simpson always has short odds here, and he’s been one of the top contenders with two top fives in the past three years. Same goes for Kevin Kisner, who goes off this week at +3500.

While the favorites have done well as far as top-5 finishes, a relatively balanced field means that winners can come from anywhere on the board with plenty of surprise victories in recent years.

RSM Classic Expert Pick & Betting Tips

Best Bet: Bronson Burgoon Top-10 Finish

Odds: +1600 at BetMGM ➜

Burgoon has serious long-shot odds on betting apps coming off a ho-hum T-35 finish at the Houston Open.

That broke a streak of back-to-back missed cuts, so Burgoon is still very much under the radar coming into Sea Island. And he hit it much better than the finish suggested at last week’s Houston Open. Burgoon finished sixth in the field in Strokes Gained Approach and just couldn’t convert with the flat stick. He’s gotten hot with the putter before and could definitely make a run this week with just a few more birdie makes.

Burgoon doesn’t have massive distance, but that’s not important at this course. He finished T-15 here last year with a 9-under 63 in the second round. And absolutely nobody is looking at him, which creates some juicy value.

The irons have been good and the price is right at BetMGM for a Burgoon top-10 finish at +1600.

RSM Classic Betting Tips

This is a classic Tour track that gives everyone in the field a shot. The par-70 Seaside course checks in at a humble 7,005 yards, so length off the tee is not an issue – look no further than Zach Johnson’s three top-10 finishes in the last four years here.

We’re looking heavily at strokes gained stats from last week’s Houston Open given all the overlap in the fields. We’ve also got plenty of historical results to go over here, with the tournament usually drawing the same cast of characters year after year.

While chalky plays like Simpson and Kisner consistently rack up solid finishes, this is usually a birdie fest with a few surprise names popping up over the weekend. That’s why we like someone like Burgoon with very long odds and as good a chance as most to get hot with the putter.

Overall, we’re focusing heavily on Strokes Gained Approach and current form heading into the final Tour event of 2021.
