Training camps are open across the NFL.

And the season begins in less than 6 weeks.

What are the most – and least – watchable games on the 2024 NFL betting schedule this season?

We ran the numbers to find out how to create the Bookies.com Watchability Index (BWI).

Bookies.com each contest on the 272-game regular season schedule and ranked every NFL game based on its watchability, using an algorithm that factors NFL lines, projected wins, and Super Bowl odds, plus the gameday atmosphere/weather, major off-field storylines, and the game’s availability on national TV or streaming service.

This year’s schedule includes a rematch of  Super Bowl 58, and of both the AFC and NFC Championship Games.

It includes the traditional Thanksgiving Day fare, another Black Friday contest, and 2 Wednesday games – on Christmas.

Will we get a Super Bowl 59 preview?

Let's begin with Week 1.

Top 25 Most Watchable NFL Games In 2024-25

Here are the top 25 games ranked by the Bookies.com Watchability Index for 2024-25 NFL season. Games are listed with their week, BWI score, and spread at DraftKings.

Super Bowl Rematch Tops Watchability List

The top game on the BWI this season occurs in Week 7, when the Kansas City Chiefs visit the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of Super Bowl 58 and 54 on Oct. 26. Kickoff is at 4:25 p.m on Fox and seven-time Super Bowl champion QB Tom Brady will be in the booth.

The Niners are NFL betting favorites by 1 point at DraftKings.

The Chiefs beat the Niners 25-22 in OT this past February in Super Bowl 58.

The season opener between the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens is No. 2 on our list. That game will be played on September 5, starting at 8:20 p.m. on NBC. This game is a rematch of the AFC Championship Game.

Top 25 Least Watchable NFL Games In 2024-25

Here are the bottom 25 games ranked by the Bookies.com Watchability Index for 2024-25 NFL season. Games are listed with their week, BWI score, and spread at DraftKings. Games are listed by lowest score first.

Panthers Dominate Least Watchable List

The Carolina Panthers appear 14 times among the 25 games in our Least Watchable Games list. Carolina is an underdog in all of its 17 games this season, and has the lowest projected win total in the NFL at just 4.5 games.

The Panthers game at the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14 ranks No. 272 on our watchability list. The Panthers have the longest shot of any time to win the Super Bowl at +25000. The disparity between Carolina and Philadelphia puts this game at the top/bottom of our list.

Followed closely is the Week 4 game between the host San Francisco 49ers and visiting New England Patriots. This game carries the biggest pre-season line at SF -11.5. The 49ers are favored to win the NFC and stand second behind the Chiefs at +600 to win the Super Bowl.

How We Did It

Multiple factors were used in creating an algorithm for the Bookies.com Watchability Index. Each of the 272 games on the NFL schedule were scored for the following:

  • WIN DISPARITY: Projected Win Totals Combined; Minus Win Total Disparity
  • ADJUSTED SB ODDS: Weighted Average of Each Team’s Odds To Win The Super Bowl at BetMGM, with the most points going to the team (Kansas City) favored to win the Super Bowl. And the least points given the longest shot on the board (Carolina).
  • POINT SPREAD: Weighted point spread for each game. A pick’em gets 20 points, a 1-point spread 19 points, a 2-point spread 18 points, and so on.

Individual matchups were also awarded 3 points each if they included:

  • Are scheduled in prime time or in a national network slot; or are available on Amazon Prime or Netflix
  • Include a major secondary storyline in addition to the game itself (i.e. Aaron Rodgers’ return to the NFL; a playoff rematch; a traditional rivalry; or offer a potential playoff preview, etc.)
  • Have potential for extreme weather, or an impactful crowd

Ties are broken by point spread, with the lower point spread being deemed more watchable.
