This weekend the UFC returns with its final Pay-Per-View of 2020, and it’s a familiar face in the main event. Last month, newly crowned flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo made his first title defense at UFC 255, submitting Alex Perez in just two minutes. He will attempt to do the same on Saturday at UFC 256 against top contender Brandon Moreno.

Moreno also recorded a quick victory at UFC 255, which means on Saturday both Figueiredo and Moreno will set the record for shortest time between fights for a champion and a challenger in UFC history.

This weekend isn’t just about the main event, though. Since July, the UFC has been hosting events every weekend and as a result, many of the cards have lacked in quality. For its final PPV event, the UFC is making up for that with a host of high-level fights and big-name fighters, and there are plenty of wagers for fans of UFC bets to make up and down the card. We just broke down these men less than a month ago, and since then, nothing much has changed. Figueiredo is a punishing striker with one of the highest knockdown-per-strike rates in the sport. Moreno is a jack-of-all-trades who is comfortable on his feet or enacting a scramble-heavy grappling game, and that’s just what he’ll need to pull off the upset.

While Figueiredo has a dangerous guillotine, he’s unlikely to win prolonged grappling, and Moreno is athletic enough to force those and durable enough to survive the striking exchanges. Oliveira vs Ferguson UFC 256 Prediction

Tony Ferguson has been the longtime No. 2 in the lightweight division and was on a 12-fight win streak until losing to Justin Gaethje earlier this year. He’s an offense-first fighter with dangerous elbows, an endless gas tank and excellent submissions.

Conversely, Charles Oliveira was mostly an also-ran at featherweight until moving up to 155, where he has now won 8 of 9 fights and rattled off seven stoppage wins in a row. If this was a year ago, Ferguson would be a prohibitive favorite, but Ferguson is now pushing 37 and coming off the first TKO loss in his career in a division where fighters age like bread. Fiziev vs. Moicano UFC 256 Prediction

Like Oliveira, Renato Moicano has moved up from featherweight and has been trying to find a home in the crowded lightweight division. After a successful debut, this will be his second outing at 155, and it’s a tough one for him. Rafael Fiziev is an accomplished Muay Thai practitioner who has made a successful transition to MMA.

On top of good fundamentals, he also has a deep bag of tricks and unorthodox attacks that will give Moicano fits. If Moicano can get takedowns, he will win the fight. But thus far, Fiziev has shown excellent takedown defense, meaning Moicano is in for a long night. Back Fiziev at FOX Bet.

Holland vs Souza UFC 256 Prediction

Similar to the ages issues with Ferguson, Jacare Souza is now 41 years old and has not fought in over a year. Conversely, Kevin Holland has fought four times this year and is riding a massive wave of momentum.

At his best, Souza would mop the floor with Holland, perhaps literally given his ground game, but those days are now long past for the former Strikeforce champion. Gane vs dos Santos UFC 256 Prediction

A theme is starting to develop on this card of past-his-prime great taking on hungry up-and-comer and as with the other two instances of this, the outcome can be expected here. Junior dos Santos is a former UFC heavyweight champion, but he’s well past his best fighting years and currently on a three-fight losing streak, all by KO.

Cyril Gane is relatively new to MMA, but he’s an successful Muay Thai practitioner and has looked sensational in his new sport. Given that, the most likely outcome is another KO loss for JDS. Barrett vs Hooper UFC 256 Prediction

I’ll keep this short: Chase Hooper has a future in this sport, but he’s massively overvalued. He can certainly grapple but he’s not a great athlete, he can’t wrestle that well and he’s still very, very raw in his actual fighting ability.
