Derek Brunson vs. Darren Till Fight Betting Analysis
Though he has been a top-10 middleweight for the last five years, Derek Brunson still does not get the respect he deserves. The fifth-ranked UFC welterweight is riding a four-fight win streak in the division and is knocking on the door of a title shot. A former Division-II All-American wrestler, Brunson is a grit and grind type of fighter, preferring to push a pace and use that wrestling pedigree, a strategy that has proven highly effective. In his last four fights, Brunson has scored 16 takedowns and a hefty 25 minutes and 30 seconds of control time.
Darren Till is very much the opposite of Brunson. Dropping out of school as a child to pursue his dream of Muay Thai, Till eventually found his way to MMA and into the UFC where, unlike Brunson, he gets nothing but respect despite only nominal accomplishments in the sport.
The current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has said many times he’d like to face Till one day. The problem is, Till can’t put together the wins to make that a reality. Over his last five fights, Till is 2-3 with both victories coming by way of dubious decision.
As one would expect with his background, Till prefers to keep fights standing and land punches and he does at least offer pretty good takedown defense to make that happen. Unfortunately for Till, plenty of fighters have found ways to beat him on the feet as well.

UFC Fight Night 191 Best Bet
Till is a solid fighter, but we’ve yet to see him do anything substantial in the middleweight division, and even his accolades at welterweight aren’t the best. Brunson, on the other hand, has been competing with the best fighters in the world for some time now, and though he has some losses, he also has some wins. Moreover, even if Till can stop Brunson’s takedowns, Brunson actually pushes a higher pace on the feet and gets hit less than Till.
Given that Till’s power at 185 is still very much in question, this matchup seems to favor Brunson and so getting him at +152 on FanDuel is a gift. ➜

Khalil Rountree vs. Modestas Bukauskas: This should be a good old-fashioned slobberknocker. Both men are big dudes who prefer to strike, and I think Rountree is the faster, more powerful puncher. The man knocked out kickboxing legend Gokhan Saki after all. Betting on mid-tier light heavyweights is always a bit of a crapshoot, but I like a play on it. Rountree by KO/TKO at +235 on FOX Bet. ➜ is good value.
