Is it true that “Everybody Hates Chris?”
But Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, aren’t among his biggest fans...
Smith delivered the smack seen round the world Sunday night at the Oscars after Rock took a swipe at Pinkett Smith’s appearance.
“Jada, I love ya. G.I. Jane 2 — can't wait to see it, all right?" Rock quipped.
Smith initially chuckled, but did not like what the Rock was cooking once he got a glance at his wife’s reaction.
Smith rushed to the stage and delivered a full, open slap to Rock in the face before returning to his seat.
"Will Smith just smacked the (expletive) out of me," said a rattled Rock.
"Keep my wife's name out your (expletive) mouth," Smith bellowed from the audience.
"It was a G.I Jane joke," said Rock.
"Keep my wife's name out your (expletive) mouth," screamed Smith, again.
"I'm going to, OK?" replied Rock.
Immediate reaction flooded social media with a debate raging into Monday as to whether the smackdown was staged for Hollywood’s biggest stage.
Who Would Win A UFC Fight Between Smith & Rock?
While Smith got the better of Rock with his sucker slap, what would happen if these men stepped foot inside the Octagon?
A UFC fight between Smith and Rock has become the joke of the MMA community overnight after UFC president Dana White tweeted out praise for Rock, saying he has a “chin”.
We asked our UFC betting expert Adam Martin for his take on the hypothetical bout...
Adam Martin's Rock vs Smith Betting Analysis
It won’t actually happen, but it’s fun to think about what would occur if these two ever fought in the UFC. Our odds have Smith opening as a big favorite at -400.
And I agree with those odds.
Unfortunately for Rock, this would be a bad matchup for him, and Smith would absolutely be a huge favorite to win the fight.
Smith is the younger man by four years (57 to 53), he’s four inches taller (6’2” to 5’10”) and Smith has the weight advantage as well. Smith also has boxing experience from the 2001 Oscar-nominated film “Ali”. As far as their ground games go, we don't know, but if the fight stays standing, Smith would likely have the edge.
Typically in combat sports, you pick the younger man who is the taller and bigger fighter, and it’s no different here. Then again, this is why we fight the fights - upsets can happen. So although Rock is the clear underdog, there is no doubt all of America would pay to see these two fight after the hype generated Sunday night.
