All the usual golf betting favorites are gathered in Memphis for this week’s WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind.

This is a typical, loaded WGC field with just about every superstar other than Tiger Woods teeing it up. This also represents the last opportunity to prepare for the PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park. It has been more than 12 months since Shane Lowry won the British Open at Royal Portrush, but major golf futures betting is at hand.

There’s still one tournament to settle before then, and it’s a good one. World No. 1 Jon Rahm is the favorite at +1100 coming off his Memorial victory. Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau are next at +1200.

Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay follow the big four at +1800 in the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational odds.

2020 St. Jude Invitational Open Best Bets

Tyrrell Hatton Over Matthew Fitzpatrick -118

Webb Simpson Top-10 Finish +220
Bet it at PointsBet
Gary Woodland Over Rickie Fowler +105

Jon Rahm Over Rory McIlroy -115

Patrick Reed (+115) over Xander Schauffele

Reed has been up-and-down since the restart, but he always brings it for the WGC events. He won the WGC-Mexico in February and has finished T-14 or better in five consecutive WGC stroke-play tournaments. He’s also sixth on Tour in birdie average, and you need a lot of circles on the card at TPC Southwind. Schauffele is playing well, but we like the underdog odds and expect a bigger weekend from Reed. Bet on Reed at +115 with DraftKings.

Tyrrell Hatton (-118) over Matthew Fitzpatrick

Hatton hasn’t played a ton of golf in the U.S. this season, but he’s lights out when he does. He won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March and has two top-five finishes in two appearances since the restart. Hatton didn’t play well at this course last year while Fitzpatrick finished T-4, which helps explain why Hatton isn’t a bigger favorite. We still think he’ll get it done in the Fitzpatrick matchup. Bet on Hatton at -118 with Unibet.

Webb Simpson Top-10 (+220)

Simpson is one of the most accurate players on Tour, and that helps a lot at TPC Southwind, where there’s water everywhere. Simpson was solo second here in 2019 and tied for third in 2014. He missed the cut in his last start at Memorial with a setup that gave everyone fits. Prior to that he was T-8 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and won the RBC Heritage. There isn’t spectacular value in those odds, but with a small field we like Simpson to finish top-10 again this week. Bet on Simpson for a Top-10 at +220 with PointsBet.

Gary Woodland (+105) over Rickie Fowler

Woodland has flirted with contention a few times since the restart but hasn’t been able to put it all together. We think this could be the week. He’s long and relatively accurate off the tee compared to some of the other bombers. He makes a lot of birdies. That bodes well in Memphis. Fowler is still in swing change mode, and those things take time. The results have been inconsistent ever since Butch Harmon stopped instructing full-time and Fowler switched to coach John Tillery last fall. Bet on Woodland at +105 with FOX Bet.

Jon Rahm (-115) over Rory McIlroy

We can’t get over Rahm’s dominant Memorial win. He won by three shots facing the strongest non-major field in Tour history with a U.S. Open setup at Muirfield Village. There might be some added pressure this week in his first start as world No. 1. But given how good he looked before the restart and how on point he played all week at Memorial, we’ll take Rahm at -115 with FanDuel, even over world No. 2 McIlory.
