Next Tuesday, Chelsea will head to the French capital for a Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain and this game registers far more highly than Saturday’s teatime encounter against Newcastle.

Guus Hiddink will be thinking about his team to face PSG first and foremost, with several fringe players likely to be used for the clash against the Magpies and this gives Newcastle a wonderful chance to get something from the game.

The players will have no fear from going to Stamford Bridge and let’s not forget that Newcastle led 2-0 in the reverse fixture before being pegged back by a Chelsea side who were having a difficult time under Jose Mourinho.

Steve McClaren saw his team land a 1-0 win against West Brom last weekend and now it’s all about building on this result and getting a head of steam which will ensure the Tyneside club are well clear of the drop zone.

New signings have arrived at St James’ Park and it should be noted that Newcastle have landed some positive results away to the big boys this term.

They were mightily unlucky to lose at the Emirates, although a goalless draw at Old Trafford and a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane illustrates that the visitors can produce the goods when required.

Aleksandar Mitrovic will once again start the match, with the Serbian scoring just his sixth goal of the season against the Baggies.

Kurt Zouma is missing for the home team, with Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Oscar likely to be rested for the clash and we could well see the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Baba Rahman line up for this one.
