Middlesbrough have taken just a point from their three games at the Riverside Stadium thus far, with that being a 1-1 draw against Stoke City on the opening game of the season.

Since then, Tottenham and Crystal Palace have left with three points and we think Watford have a much greater chance of victory than their odds suggest.

Walter Mazzarri’s team were well-backed to win their last away match, although they came off second best at Burnley after previously triumphing 4-2 at West Ham.

The Hornets have therefore blown hot and cold, with a victory over Manchester United also taking place this term, although the presence of Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney in attack could give them an advantage in this clash.

Watford played pretty well when drawing 2-2 against Bournemouth a fortnight ago, with Isaac Success having a bright half hour which might earn him a start in this match.

It’s hard to believe Watford have spent £12.5 million on Success for him to be simply sitting on the bench and his ability in the air could be eye-catching against a side who are struggling to keep clean sheets.

Middlesbrough have six points from their seven games and their solitary win came against a desperate Sunderland side who were there for the taking.

Perhaps Aitor Karanka will target a clean sheet in this game in a bid to keep collecting the odd point although this is the sort of fixture which Boro must win to stay afloat in the top flight this term.

Ultimately, we think the bookies have afforded the Teeside team too much respect, with Watford available at a nice price on the +0 handicap which means money back if the game ends all square.
