Portsmouth enjoyed a winning start to their League Two campaign on Saturday when putting Dagenham and Redbridge to the sword.

Paul Cook declared the performance and result as dream-like and he will now see how his charges measure up against a team playing their football two levels higher in the Championship.

Kyle Bennett enjoyed an especially good debut on Saturday with the former Doncaster midfielder scoring twice in front of 17,000 fans and there will be a similar crowd for the arrival of Derby County.

Bet365 offer tempting odds of 7/2 that Paul Cook’s side claim a cup scalp and a home win wouldn’t be a huge surprise although Derby are likely to field a strong team in a bid to get a win under their belts.

County earned a goalless draw at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday, with the Rams having to endure something of a Bolton onslaught as Wanderers hit the woodwork on three occasions.

Paul Clement declared himself satisfied with the result, although injuries to Craig Bryson and Will Hughes means that the midfield duo are unlikely to make the trip south with their team-mates.

However, when you consider that Derby had Darren Bent on the bench on Saturday along with Andreas Weimann, it gives you an indication that the visitors will have a strong team out and we think goals is the best way to play this one.

Portsmouth will be determined to have a crack in this nothing-to-lose match which will generate income from being on TV, while Clement will also want to see his team go on the front foot.

It should be an exciting spectacle and let’s hope for those goals to come raining down.
