UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Lewis Odds, Tips & Predictions

Jed Meshew | 6 mins

For the last three weeks, the UFC has put on fight cards, and that train keeps right on rolling this weekend with UFC Vegas 19. In the main event, second-ranked heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes takes on fourth-ranked contender Derrick Lewis. Aside from that, there are a smattering of other important bouts on the card and some good UFC betting opportunities, so let’s jump into it.

Curtis Blaydes vs Derrick Lewis Odds To Back
Simply put, Curtis Blaydes is going to win this fight, it’s just a matter of when he does it. Derrick Lewis is a fun fight and in fact a good fighter, but his weakness has always been good wrestling, and Blaydes is the best and most committed wrestler in the division. He’s going to take Lewis to the ground and then punch him a lot until the referee intervenes.
It may take a few rounds to get the stoppage given that Lewis is tough, but “The Black Beast” doesn’t have the cardio to get beat up for five rounds. Eventually, the stoppage will come.
For those who want something a little more interesting, you could also sprinkle a tiny amount on the Blaydes by Submission prop at +1000. Blaydes does not have any career submissions but with the amount of time he’ll be on top of Lewis, it’s possible he catches an American or choke to finish the fight instead of punches. But our bet is Blaydes to win by KO/TKO at FanDuel.
Aleksei Oleinik vs Chris Daukaus Odds To Back
Of all the bets this week, this is the riskiest. Oleinik is 43 and facing a man more than 10 years his junior who has looked ferocious in his brief UFC career. But though Daukaus has looked good, his quality of opposition has not been strong, and in Oleinik he’s facing a man who is extremely gritty and uniquely crafty with his submissions.
It’s possible Daukaus comes out and lamps Oleinik, but I believe it’s equally possible that Daukaus tries and fails to get the finish early and then gets sucked down into Oleinik’s world on the ground. Grab Oleinik to win at DraftKings.

Ketlen Vieira vs Yana Kunitskaya Odds To Back
Similar to the main event, the co-main features one of the best wrestlers in the bantamweight division taking on someone who doesn’t have tremendous takedown defense. Ketlen Vieira is a black belt in both BJJ and Judo and won multiple national wrestling championships in Brazil. She’s proven to be an absolute beast on the mat.
On the other side of things, Yana Kunitskaya is a taekwondo champion who sports a 33% takedown defense rate. Vieira has thus far not proven to be much of a finisher, so Kunitskaya should make the final horn and lose a wide decision. Bet on it with BetMGM.

Tom Aspinall vs Andrei Arlovski Odds to Back
Andrei Arlovski is a future Hall of Famer, but the fact that he is still competing and picking up wins is a minor miracle. Many people thought Arlovski was finished a decade ago and, yet, he persists. He’s not going to fare well against Tom Aspinall though.
Arlovski has been gutting out wins over inferior athletes with grit and guile, but Aspinall is a specimen and it should only take a few good punches to knock out the MMA legend and potentially send him into a well-deserved retirement. Take Aspinall to win by KO/TKO with FOX Bet.
