For the second time in 2022, the UFC heads to the O2 Arena in London, England with a stacked card featuring many of Europe’s best fighters. There are 14 fights in total, with many of the U.K.’s top talents on display, including England’s own Tom Aspinall in the main event against American Curtis Blaydes. We will break down the main event and two other fights in in this week's UFC betting preview.

UFC London Betting Prediction & Pick

Tom Aspinall (-135) vs. Curtis Blaydes (+115)

The main event of UFC London is a five-round heavyweight bout between top-10 ranked Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blaydes. Despite being a +115 underdog. I favor Blaydes to win the fight.

Aspinall is certainly a special heavyweight. The 29-year-old Manchester native joined the UFC in 2020 and since then he is a perfect 5-0 in the Octagon with all five of his wins coming by stoppage. Aspinall has shown incredible skills everywhere the fight goes as he’s won three fights by knockout and two more by submission.

He certainly looks like he has all the tools to be a future champion in the weight class. That being said, Blaydes is the best fighter he’s ever fought, and I’m not exactly convinced that Aspinall should be favored to win this matchup at top betting sites

UFC London Odds, Betting Predictions & Expert Picks for Aspinall vs Blaydes 1
Remember, Blaydes is just 31, so he’s not old by any means, and he has far more high-level experience than Aspinall does. The American joined the UFC in 2016 and is 11-3, 1 NC so far in the Octagon. He has fought the who’s who in the UFC heavyweight division, with his only losses coming against the champion Francis Ngannou twice and Derrick Lewis.

Other than that, Blaydes has been unstoppable. His wrestling is arguably the best in the weight class and he is also improving in the striking department. He also has gone the full five rounds before. It’s also worth noting that this is the first time Blaydes has been the underdog in his entire MMA career.

Aspinall is a great young fighter, but I believe Blaydes should be favored here due to his quality of opposition and his UFC experience. I’m going with Blaydes to win as a +115 underdog, and I believe he will use his wrestling to win, so take a look at Blaydes by decision at +550 odds.

The Pick: Curtis Blaydes wins at +115 with DraftKings

Alternative Pick: Curtis Blaydes wins by decision at +550 with DraftKings

Other UFC London Best Bets

Chris Curtis (-110) vs. Jack Hermansson (-110)

In the co-main event, Chris Curtis takes on Jack Hermansson in a middleweight bout. The odds are a Pick ‘em at -110, and I favor Curtis to get his hand raised and continue his winning streak.

Curtis joined the UFC in 2020 and since then, he has been one of the most active middleweights on the roster. Despite being a late bloomer in the UFC at 35 years old, the American has shown tremendous skills so far in the Octagon.

He knocked out Phil Hawes and Brendan Allen as a big underdog in his first two UFC fights, and then he defeated Rodolfo Vieira in his last outing by decision. He has shown incredible striking skills and knockout power, and his defensive grappling is as good as it gets, stopping 26 of 26 takedowns in the Octagon so far.

It’s worth noting Curtis took this fight against Hermansson on short notice, filling in for the injured Darren Till, but he just fought last month and he should be in great shape for this fight.

Hermansson, meanwhile, is one of the top-10 ranked middleweights in the UFC right now. The 34-year-old European joined the UFC roster in 2016 and has gone 9-5 so far in the Octagon with six wins coming by stoppage.

He has an excellent ground game and his striking is also improving. However, I do not believe he will be able to equal Curtis on the feet in this fight, so if he can’t get the fight to the ground, he could be in trouble.

Considering Curtis has not been taken down in the UFC yet, I believe he will be able to stop all of Hermansson’s takedowns and keep the fight standing, where he will be able to get the better of his opponent in the standup.

Give me Curtis to win at -110 odds in this fight. Given how tough Hermansson is, for an alternative pick you could take a look at the prop on Curtis to win by decision at +380 odds.

The Pick: Chris Curtis wins at   -110 with DraftKings

Alternative Pick: Chris Curtis wins by decision at +380 with FanDuel

Paddy Pimblett (-255) vs. Jordan Leavitt (+215)

Also on the main card is a lightweight bout between Paddy Pimblett and Jordan Leavitt. Pimblett is a -255 favorite on betting apps, and I like him to get the victory in front of all of his fans in his native England.

Just 27 years of age, Pimblett is one of the U.K.’s biggest superstars. The Liverpool native joined the UFC in 2021 and picked up a sensational KO win over Luigi Vendramini in his promotional debut. He then followed it up with a submission win over Kazula Vargas in his last fight.

Although he has eaten some big shots in both of his UFC fights, he has shown knockout power and submission prowess, and now he gets to fight in front of his English fans again. Although he still has a lot to improve on, there is no doubting Pimblett is a very dangerous fighter, and in this matchup against Leavitt, he should have the advantage in the striking.

Leavitt, meanwhile, joined the UFC in 2020 and since then he is 3-1 in the Octagon with finishes of Matt Wiman and Matt Sayles, a decision win over Trey Ogden, and a decision loss to Claudio Puelles. The 27-year-old American is an excellent grappler; we have seen him show off his wrestling skills in his victories.

However, we haven’t really seen him get tested on the feet against anyone with legitimate knockout power yet as Pimblett has. Leavitt has a path to victory here with his wrestling, but if he can’t get Pimblett down, he will likely lose the fight.

The English crowd will be behind Pimblett in this fight, one where he should have the edge in striking and knockout power. I see Pimblett hurting Leavitt on the feet and then swarming him with punches until the referee steps in and stops the fight for another knockout victory. Give me Pimblett to win at -255 and for a prop, you can take a look at Pimblett by TKO at +260.

The Pick: Paddy Pimblett wins at -255 with DraftKings

Alternative Pick: Paddy Pimblett wins by TKO at +260 with FanDuel
