This is one of the more competitive groups in the 2026 World Cup. Netherlands, Japan and Sweden will all think they can secure top spot in Group F, and this is before Tunisia have their say. Get the latest Group F betting odds here.
World Cup Group F
The countries in this group are probably glad of the expanded format, as one of them would be a big name to be guaranteed to lose after just three games. The best World Cup betting sites are predicting this one will be close and go down to the final round of group games.
Netherlands
Top football betting sites have Netherlands as the favourites for group F, but can you put faith in a side that has a spine consisting of so many Liverpool players after the season they have had? However, they were impressive in qualifying. Coming through the eight games without losing a single one, scoring 27 goals in the process and only conceding four. Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo can pose any team problems on their day.
Japan
If you thought Netherlands were impressive in qualifying, they had nothing on Japan. They only lost one of their 16 qualifying games across two group phases, and only conceded three goals along the way. They then proved they were a match for anyone by beating England and Scotland in consecutive internationals in March 2026. Those wins confirmed why many have them as dark horses this summer.
Sweden
Sweden would have a formidable front line if the health of Alexander Isak wasn't in question, but his loss of fitness and form has coincided with Sweden's. They have only won two of their last eight internationals and only scored seven goals in those games. Their two friendlies before the start of the World Cup will go a long way to confirming whether they can be relied upon to go far in the tournament.
Tunisia
Tunisia strolled through World Cup qualification, topping their group by a massive 13 points, and keeping clean sheets in all 10 games. Questions probably need to be asked about the standard of competition they were facing, and, as with Sweden, their two warm-up games for the tournament will show us just how good they are. Austria and Belgium will both provide stern tests for the Eagles of Carthage.
