Cristiano Ronaldo has now left the Old Trafford building. The Manchester United legend returned to the club in the summer of 2021 to the acclaim of supporters, and early signs suggested that the forward could help bring back the good times to Old Trafford. However, his influence waned during the 2021/22 season, and he's spent much of the current campaign on the sidelines.

After an explosive interview where Ronaldo claimed that he had been betrayed by United and Erik ten Hag, the player and the club have parted ways, and it could be that the forward will soon be playing his club football close to where his Portugal team have been situated for the World Cup.

After rumours of a mega-money offer from a Saudi Arabian club, it might be that Ronaldo decides to play domestic football in this country, and there is speculation that he will be offered a contract that will allow him to play for several more years while enjoying the acclaim of supporters. However, Chelsea or the MLS also remain viable avenues according to the latest odds.

The best betting apps now have a "Ronaldo Next Club" betting market where Sporting Lisbon and Chelsea are among the market leaders.

Will Saudi Arabian Oufit Al-Nassr Show Ronaldo The Money?

Cristiano Ronaldo's career has always been driven by how much money he can generate from a particular deal and the trophies he can winm and perhaps he is about to land his most lucrative contract so far. There is now fierce speculation that the Portuguese captain will be playing for Al-Nassr in the New Year, with rumours that he has been offered a jaw-dropping amount of money to turn out in the Saudi Arabian top flight.

Al-Nassr have reportedly offered Ronaldo a three-year deal that would mean the multiple Ballon d'Or winner would be able to play into his 40s and earn £62 million per year in the process. CBS recently reported that this offer has been submitted to Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes, and it would be interesting to see if the player is prepared to live in Saudi Arabia for a princely sum in return.

The question is whether Ronaldo actually needs that amount of money considering what has been earned in his career to date. He also knows that he's firmly in the twilight of his career, and this is likely to be the final move before he decides to call time on his career.

Could Ronaldo Feel the Love by Returning to Sporting Lisbon?

Cristiano Ronaldo has a special affinity with Sporting and perhaps he could return to Portugal after the World Cup. The 37-year-old started his playing career at the Portuguese club, and he might be willing to take drastically reduced pay terms to turn out for a team whose fanbase would greet him with open arms.

After his "betrayal" at Manchester United, Sporting could be just the tonic for a player who made 25 appearances for the same club 20 years ago. By that point, the Red Devils had been alerted to his technical ability and were swift to capture a player who would go on to become a legend at the English club.

Much depends on whether Ronaldo is prepared to concede that his career is in the final throes. A move to Sporting would cast him away from the major European spotlight as they are a club who failed to remain in the Champions League after the group stage.

Chelsea Might Look to Bolster Attacking Options By Landing CR7

The timing of Ronaldo's statement coincided with the pause in the Premier League season. By the time play resumes on Boxing Day, the January transfer window will be around the corner, and Manchester United have now offloaded a player who essentially became toxic at the club.

Chelsea are probably in a financial position to consider a short-term package for the player. While Graham Potter is looking to the long-term at Stamford Bridge, there is a need for the Blues to be competing in the Champions League, and perhaps Ronaldo can help the Blues achieve their top-four aims.

Ronaldo might be open to a move to London at this stage of his career, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future at the club proving unclear. It would certainly be a big twist if Chelsea were able to land the player.

Newcastle United Might Be Interested in CR7 Signing

Newcastle were the subject of a massive takeover nearly a year ago, with the Premier League side now under Saudi Arabian ownership and they now look like a club who can challenge for major honours over the coming seasons.

There will clearly be money for Eddie Howe to spend in January and the capture of Cristiano Ronaldo would boost things from a commercial point-of-view. But do the Magpies need a player like this on the pitch? After all, Howe has a settled team at St James' Park and it's hard to see how CR7 would fit into the first team.

It will be interesting to see if Ronaldo is offered a short-term deal although it would be a big outlay and one can't help but feel that Newcastle's desire to sign the player is done out of commercial desire rather than what happens on the field.

Is the MLS Calling for Ronaldo?

Cristiano Ronaldo has possibly reached that stage of his career where it's time to relocate to the United States of America. Many high-profile players have decided to take the yankee dollars and get a final payday in the MLS, and the bookies certainly think it's possible that CR7 will be moving Stateside in the New Year.

After all, Gareth Bale recently ended speculation by heading to play Major League Soccer, with high-profile players such as David Beckham, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard having all done the same. Many bookies just list "Any MLS Club" as a potential betting option which covers all of them.

Would Scudetto-Chasing Napoli Take a Chance on Ronaldo?

Napoli are riding high at the top of Serie A although perhaps Luciano Spalletti is considering an audacious move for a player who has previously turned out in Italy for Juventus. The Naples side have been flying this season although landing the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo could put them even more on the map.

After all, Napoli are gunning not only for the Scudetto, but also the Champions League, and a forward such as Ronaldo is highly experienced when it comes to challenging and winning the European Cup.

A PSG Move Would Pair Cristiano Ronaldo With Lionel Messi

Just imagine the fallout if long-time rivals Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were to actually become teammates. And let’s face it, megabucks Paris Saint-Germain are probably the only club in the world with the funds to pull this one off.

The French giants are among the favourites at 12/1 in the market with football betting sites to sign the 37-year-old in January and, given the club's deep pockets, could you really rule it out?

Such a move would see PSG have a combined 12 Ballon d'Or wins under the same roof, and it would also mean two of the four currently active award winners (Luka Modric and Karim Benzema being the other ones) playing for the same team.

Having conquered England, Spain and Italy already, Ronaldo may just fancy taking over a fourth and final country to end his sparkling career.
