Sweden’s “Bara Bada Bastu" by KAJ has established itself as firm favourite to win the 2025 Eurovision. Austria's JJ, with “Wasted Love”, is firmly locked in as second favourite, but there will be competition before the final, most notably from Israel, France and Netherlands, who are next in the betting at the time of writing.

When Does the 2025 Eurovision Take Place?

The final of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to begin at 8pm UK Time on Saturday 17th May. Before then, two Eurovision semi-finals took place on Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th May, which determined the full lineup for the final. Six countries were guaranteed a spot in the final – Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Germany, UK and France. The rest had to make it through the semi-finals.

2025 Eurovision Betting Tips for Basel 2025

Israel are one of the most successful countries in the history of the Eurovision, with four wins. Their most recent win came in 2018, but they went close last year, finishing fifth with a song that was relatively unfancied in the betting. Yuval Raphael's "New Day Will Rise" is expected to be a hit with the jury this year. If that comes to be, and the song gets a similar level of public support as last year's entry, then Israel may be able to belie their odds, and are an attractive each way bet. It's very tough to see it out of the first four.

We won't know the exact order of the semi finals until after Saturday's final, but it looks safe to assume Portugal didn't have much to spare in qualifying. With just Spain to count on for neighbourly votes and a fairly forgettable song, they're a massive price to finish last.
