Since the turn of the millennium, no team in this group has progressed as far in a World Cup as South Korea did in 2002. Again showing the impact home support can have, they shocked the world by making it to the semi-finals. They’ve reached the knockout rounds twice in four attempts since, so clearly have the right stuff for tournament football.
Appearing in the first World Cup since hosting in 2010, South Africa will be hopeful of getting past the group stage for the first time in their history.
