Cambridge United have started the search for a new manager after Neil Harris decided to leave the club to attempt to save Millwall from joining Cambridge in League One next season. The next Cambridge United Manager market has been opened by UK betting sites, former Blackpool boss Simon Grayson was the odds-on favourite to become the next Cambridge manager, with Mark Kennedy, Gary Monk and Michael Duff behind him in the betting. Monk is now the favourite with others close behind.

The next Cambridge manager market is still in its infancy but is filled with the usual suspects at the top. With caretaker manager Barry Corr, plus former player Gary Rowett and usual suspect Michael Duff strong in the market. Betting sites are currently leaning heavily on past, or current, connections with the club to build the market. With Gareth Ainsworth, who made a handful of appearances for the club, also prominent in the betting.

As the picture becomes clearer, and we see who else the club has on their radar, it will be interesting to see what moves take place in the betting. Whether they have someone in mind who will be quickly appointed, or it will be a long drawn out saga like the next Ireland manager betting, only time will tell.

Barry Corr To Get The Cambridge Manager Job Full Time?

Barry Corr has benefitted the most from the departure of Neil Harris. The former assistant head coach will now take charge of the team for the game this weekend against Peterborough United and has also been promoted to the head of the next Cambridge manager betting market. The club are looking to hire someone who knows the club well and won't need time to acclimatise, so they probably won't be able to do much better than giving Barry Corr the job.

Michael Duff To Join Cambridge

Michael Duff has been out of work since being leaving Swansea in December, but has a strong back-catalogue of work managing teams at Cambridge's level. Arguably the most successful manager in Cheltenham Town's history, getting the club promoted from League Two and leading them to their highest-ever finishing position in League One (15th place). The Cambridge job requires a similar level of achievement in the short term, but the only issue here may be his personal ambition. Duff may now want to manage a club higher up the football pyramid at this stage of his career.

Gary Rowett To Become The Cambridge United Manager

In what might be the ultimate football manager merry-go-round, Gary Rowett is a short price with football betting sites to be the next Cambridge United manager. Having replaced Neil Harris as Millwall manager in 2019, he now finds himself in the running to replace Harris as Cambridge United manager. It wouldn't be the biggest shock if Rowett did take the job, as he started his professional career at Cambridge, scoring 13 goals in 83 appearances across three seasons with the club.
