Replacing a club legend like Jurgen Klopp was supposed to be an impossible job, but the way that Arne Slot and his team sauntered to a Premier League title suggested it was anything but. Then after spending big in the summer on attacking talent, some betting sites expected it to be a Liverpool procession this season.

It hasn’t worked out quite like that in Slot’s second season. The Dutchman has overseen seven defeats in the club’s last 10 matches in all competitions, and they languish in eighth in the Premier League. Would Jurgen Klopp Make Shock Return?

The man who sits at the top of the Next Liverpool Manager betting market probably tops the fans lists as well. There will probably be another victory parade if Klopp does make a return in an appointment that would be met with universal approval around the club.

Club Legend Xabi Alonso Would Be A Coup

Xabi Alonso has long been thought of as a potential future Liverpool manager after his brilliant playing career with the club led them to an FA Cup and Champions League before moving on to Real Madrid. Alonso took on his first major managerial role with Bayer Leverkusen in October 2022, and he led the team to an unbeaten Bundesliga season en route to the title.

Steven Gerrard a Long Shot

When Steven Gerrard led Rangers to their first Scottish Premiership title in 10 years, he appeared to be a Liverpool manager in waiting. The club legend and former captain then took on the same manager role at Aston Villa, and despite a positive start to his reign, he was sacked in October after winning just two of their first 12 Premier League games of the season.
