Tip 1 - 2:10 Carlisle - Ramon Di Loria
After six months on the all-weather with varying degrees of success, including two wins earlier this year, Ramon Di Loria returned to turf a couple of weeks ago for a respectable third, which the victor ran away with. The eight-year-old enjoyed a couple of good runs at Carlisle last September and has won or finished within two lengths of the winner in six of his eight career runs here.

Tip 2 - 2:32 Wetherby - Sports Day
Sports Day looked in good shape in April with a second and a third in handicaps as he looks for his maiden victory. A disaster of a run last time out can be discounted as it was on soft ground, which he clearly doesn’t fancy based on two poor career runs on it, but going back to good today should help. He ran too well in those races earlier this year to not be in the mix once again.

Tip 3 - 3:20 Carlisle - Banderas
Banderas has not been seen on the flat since July last year when winning here over 2m1f from a mark of 70. Convincing winner last time out over hurdles and should be bang there over this 1m6f trip. Has previously won as a two-year-old from a mark of 80, so this three-pound rise to 73 from last flat race should cause no issues. Any potential rain would be a plus.

Tip 4 - 3:30 Chepstow - Level Up
Level Up is a pretty consistent five-furlong runner who could well be treated nicely for a return to the winner’s enclosure. Not won since October, but that means his mark is back below that last winning form by a pound. 10 of his 12 career wins have all come from marks higher than today’s 63 and has a course-and-distance triumph here from last June. What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
