Tip 1 - 2:30 Ayr - Keep Me Stable
A hat trick at Musselburgh in his three most recent runs puts Keep Me Stable in excellent stead here, especially with two of them coming over today’s distance of 7f. The five-year-old has also won at Ayr in the past, almost a year ago to the day, and a 4lb rise shouldn’t hamper him much considering his hat trick saw him go off at 54, 57 and then 61.

Tip 2 - 3:15 Kempton - Popeye Doyle
Popeye Doyle didn’t have the best of starts to life as a handicapper. Forced to race wide at Chester and then experiencing a flag start at Ffos Las, he didn’t look up to his mark in the mid-60s. First time cheekpieces and a return to the all-weather last time out did the trick, with Hugo Palmer’s gelding winning in commanding fashion. If that’s a sign that the penny has now dropped, he should go close in his follow-up bid.

Tip 3 - 3:30 Ayr - Dawn Of Liberation
Dawn Of Liberation has been running well recently without gaining the full compensation, but with favourite Glistening Nights carrying a penalty for his recent success this could be his chance. Dawn Of Liberation is still well below his career high rating so there is still headroom in a mark which is creeping back up again.

Tip 4 - 4:52 Kempton - Gallic Legend
A few of these have shaped up reasonably well in their callow careers, but we think there’s much more to come from Sea The Stars gelding Gallic Legend. Step up to 1m4f should be beneficial, with sire Sea The Stars victorious in both the Epsom Derby and Arc over the same distance. Shaped up well at Windsor in June when third, with the winner going in again in a Listed race next time out. Trainer James Ferguson has a level stakes profit at this course over the last 12 months, so this could be the time for Gallic Legend to get off the mark.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
