Tip 1 - 2:30 Carlisle - DC Cogent
DC Cogent has spent most of the last few months on all-weather to reasonable success, always being there or thereabouts without actually winning, and his switch to turf earlier this month saw him record a respectable third. Tip 2 - 2:40 Redcar - The Sweet Escape
The Sweet Escape has enjoyed the return to turf this spring with victory at Nottingham in a Class 6 last month before coming second by just a nose at Leicester nine days ago. Sandwiched between them was a sixth at this grade but he wasn’t a million miles away and has performed much better in Class 5 runs before.

Tip 3 - 3:30 Carlisle - Cascade Hall
Cascade Hall routed the field last time out, hacking up by 10 lengths setting a pace the others couldn’t go. Because of the nature of the win the handicapper probably couldn’t give anymore than 6lb for the success, so he still could be well treated here. Particularly as the runner up that day subsequently went on to score next time out.

Tip 4 - 3:40 Redcar - Glory Hyde
Glory Hyde kept on well to win at the line at Wetherby two starts ago, then was probably an unlucky loser not to get a clear run when it was needed next time out when well backed. Connections obviously think they are still on a workable mark as she has been sent out again to try and get compensation, and considering her running style the step up to six furlongs could bring about some further improvement.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
