Tip 1 - 2:51 Hamilton - Kelpie Grey
Kelpie Grey is winless since rattling off a hat trick back in 2024, with the third of those wins coming off a mark of 78. 16 runs since then have resulted in five placed efforts, so he’s certainly no forlorn hope. His rating has now fallen to 68 and he must clearly be thought of as capable considering he went off at 11/8 a couple of weeks ago. He travelled well that day before fading into fifth late on. This drop in trip should help and he’s weighted to go close.

Tip 2 - 3:42 Wetherby - Come On Eibhlin
Dylan Cunha’s three-year-old has now not shown much since winning on second start at Windsor last year, which came after an encouraging debut in a Grade 2. That win saw her beat a horse now rated in the 80s, so there is ability there. The fact she was tried in further graded races last year also suggests connections thinks there is potential there. She has unfortunately yet to show it this year but was an encouraging third last time out and could well be rated perfectly at 74 for a drop down to a Class 5.

Tip 3 - 5:03 Uttoxeter - Justus
Justus’ form took a turn for the worst last year after gaining a couple of wins in 2024 he found it tough to beat anything last year. That has however meant his mark has dropped to a very workable level, as he showed last time out when just not being able to go with one rival late on. He’s gets back in here off the same mark and as long as there isn’t something lurking he could have a chance today.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
