Opera Ballo has done nothing to suggest he shouldn’t be bang there in the first race of Royal Ascot. Has won seven of nine career races including two Group 2 successes and a Group 1. Tip 2 - 4.20 Ascot – Talk Of New York
Taking on odds-on favourite Bow Echo and second-favourite Gstaad may feel like a fool’s errand, but Talk Of New York seems to have got lost in the mix somewhat and comes in at a nice price. The three-year-old won the Listed Heron Stakes at Sandown in fine style last month, adding to his win at Newmarket in April, and may prove to be a thorn in the side of the two frontrunners.

Tip 3 - 5:00 Ascot - Westminster Moon
Any horse that wins this always needs a bit of luck, so it helps if they are ridden handy and can avoid the mess. That’s what connections did with Westminster Moon last time out and it worked to good effect as he kicked clear in the closing stages, looking like he would be even better going the extra distance he gets today, The only worry is he has never gone on good to firm ground before, however there is a chance he could enjoy it as his form on good ground is better than on soft.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
