Tip 1 - 2:30 Southwell - Pep Talking
Favourite Vocito was a hugely convincing winner of 18 lengths last time out over hurdles, but he has been unconvincing over the bigger obstacles and looks easy enough to oppose. Pep Talking has been slowly making his way up the weights with consistent performances. He’s finished in the top three in 14 out of 18 chases. He had a previous course win in April last year. So long as the trip back to two miles on good ground isn’t too sharp, he should be tough to beat here.

Tip 2 - 3:00 Southwell - Mr Mahler

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
