Tip 1 - 2:55 York - Pocklington
It’s been a good few months for Pocklington with form of 322127 dating back to August last year, including two runner up finishes by just a shoulder. That most recent seventh can be explained away by the wind op a few days later and given his strong course and distance form here (fifth and second), the five-year-old should be right up there again.

Tip 2 - 3:08 Perth - Suspected
The lightly raced Suspected hacked up last time out on his first go over three miles, looking like extra distance is exactly what he has been waiting for. He wasn’t stopping that day either so he should have no issues with the couple of furlongs today. He did go up 6lb for that win but looked excellent value for it, and is completely unexposed over this longer distance so could well take it in his stride.

Tip 3 - 3:30 York - Cool Hoof Luke
This looks like a great race, and it could be taken by the progressive Cool Hoof Luke. Had a couple of encouraging performances in Group contests in June and July 2024 as a two-year-old before winning a course-and-distance Group 2 to finish that season. Then not seen on the track for 526 days and finished a close third in a Listed race this January. Followed up with a Listed win in March and comes into this contest off the same mark of 108 from that race. Could be in perfect fitness for this Group 2.

Tip 4 - 4:05 York - Felicitas
There’s been a lot to like about what we’ve seen from Felicitas in her career so far. Two runs, two authoritative wins and a fairly prominent position in the Oaks betting. This represents a big step up in class for her, taking on opposition with group form. She’s less exposed than her chief rivals today, we know she stays and she’s had a recent run. It’s hard to find fault with her and she has the profile of an exciting filly.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
