Poppy Foxy looks an interesting candidate, stepping up in trip on the all-weather for the first time. Breeding would suggest that the minimum distance would be required but only career win came over seven furlongs in a Class 4 and was going away at the end. Was just found wanting over six furlongs last time, so the step up to a mile could bring about more improvement. If taking to the all-weather at the first time of asking, he could well be the pick of the bunch here.

Itica returns to the track after six months off. In that time, he’s been gelded, which should help him focus more on the task at hand. He certainly has the ability to win off this sort of mark, having gone close in a Newcastle novice on his final run as a two-year-old. What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
