Tip 1 - 2:30 Brighton - Nogo’s Dream

Just four career wins from 45 attempts, but Nogo’s Dream rarely runs a bad race and should be there or thereabouts from today’s mark of 74. Has previous winning form last year from marks of 79 and 74. Has been mixing it in Class 3s and 4s this summer and had some decent results. Now dropped back into a Class 5. The last time he was in a Class 5, he won and should go well here.

Tip 2 - 3:15 Musselburgh - Motawaared

Motawaared is still to get his head in front after 13 races, but he was given a far too stiff opening rating which has required a few efforts to get down to a workable mark. He’s off 58 now which at least gives him a chance after looking much better when in first time cheekpieces last time out. If he hadn’t missed the break he would have been a lot closer, and has an opportunity to break his duck down in trip today.

Tip 3 - 4.00 Brighton – Crimson Road

On a hat trick after consecutive wins at Chepstow in the last month, Crimson Road heads to Brighton in the form of his career. The five-year-old is dropping down a grade back to Class 6 after that most recent win, which should somewhat offset the 4lb rating rise he earned. All four of his career wins have come over this distance and it was only a couple of years ago he was winning Class 4s at a much higher mark, so if he can rediscover that form then he should be right up there again.

Tip 4 - 4:51 Ballinrobe - Minella Post

Recent form figures of 0FP don’t really tell the full story of Minella Post’s chances. He was down the field in a Punchestown Festival handicap and pulled up in a hot race at the Galway Festival. In between those two, he fell at the second last when having every chance in a Cork maiden. This looks to be a pretty weak race, with favourite Coolashael having to prove his wellbeing after 79 days off. Minella Post has shown enough to suggest he has a race like this in him.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
