Tip 1 - 1:30 Chester - Adonius
There are certainly compelling reasons why current favourite, Roman Dragon, is as such. He has seven course wins, including last year from the same mark. However, Ruby’s Profit looks worth a chance off a nice mark, which is the same as her last winning mark. Last time out fourth of six doesn’t sound great, but it was only by a length and she recovered after missing the break. All three career wins have come in spring and was a good second in only appearance here last year. Could take advantage of plenty of weight in hand on the favourite.

Tip 2 - 2:15 Huntingdon - Lady Jago
There’s no getting away from the fact that Lady Jago is woefully out of form. She’s not got to within 15 lengths of the winner in any of her last five starts, beating a total of seven horses in that run. As a result, her handicap rating has dropped below 100, which is mighty tempting. The step up in trip is in her favour, with one of her four career wins coming over this sort of distance. She’s shown next to nothing for her current yard, but is too well-treated to ignore, having won off 114 a year ago.

Tip 3 - 3:15 Huntingdon - Greedy Smith
With the rest of the field all having questions to answer Greedy Smith looks the choice considering he was seemingly unlucky to bump into one last time out. First time cheekpieces brought about the desired effect last time out with him finishing 4½ lengths clear of third place. The winner of that race went close again next time out despite a 6lb rise so the form looks like it is solid.

Tip 4 - 4:00 Windsor - Moon Over The Sea
Moon Over The Sea recently returned to flat turf for the first time in almost two years and put paid to any fears by impressively storming home down the final furlong. Today’s race is the same distance and the seven-year-old has avoided any handicap rise since that victory, and shouldn’t feel any ill effects from only 10 days off considering that’s been the yard’s M.O. with him over winter.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
