Tip 1 - 2:48 Pontefract - General Assembly
It’s been almost a year since General Assembly last ran on turf but his all-weather record has been encouraging in the last few months, winning a couple of times in the autumn and also finishing second on each of his last two runs. Tip 2 - 3:50 Musselburgh - Giorgio M
Plenty in this who find winning difficult, but one of them has to, and we think it could be Giorgio M who is ripe for the taking given his lowly mark. Rated two pounds lower than for his last two wins and just two pounds higher than when winning over course and distance. Has another placed CD effort to show for his two runs here. Ran better than last time out fourth suggested and could have more to give back on turf. Claimer Jack Nicholls is in good form and takes off a very handy five pounds.

Tip 3 - 4:15 Punchestown - Doctor Steinberg
Doctor Steinberg looked like he had all the potential to be a superstar after winning his first three assignments over hurdles, however he was keen in all of those runs and that finally caught up with him at the Cheltenham Festival. Headgear is reached for here and should the first time hood have the desired effect he will be too good for these.

Tip 4 - 4:50 Punchestown - Low Kick
The Gordon Elliott yard hasn’t exactly been firing the winners in of late, but did taste Grade 1 success yesterday with Western Fold. More Grade 1 glory could await here for Low Kick. His three bumper runs to date have been impressive in their own way. Third on good ground at Aintree on debut before running well to be second to The Irish Avatar despite getting worked up in the prelims and then an impressive winner at Naas last time out. This is a big step up in trip, but he clearly has a ton of ability and could show the benefit of skipping Cheltenham.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
