Quinn Hughes Trade Odds: Will Vancouver Deal Star Defenseman?

It’s that time of year. Families are traveling via planes, trains and automobiles to get together for Thanksgiving dinner. After that, we’ll have the Christmas season, when families decorate their homes and buy gifts.
While all that happens, the Vancouver Canucks front office remains busy trying to trade a star player and shaking up NHL betting again.
OK, the latter is not necessarily annual, but it seems like it at this point. Especially since reports have emerged that the team might deal star defenseman Quinn Hughes.

Bookies.com has developed these Quinn Hughes trade odds on where he will be playing by the time the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline hits on March 6. These odds are exclusive to Bookies, but oddsmakers at top sports betting apps will keep an eye out for developments.
The New Jersey Devils are the clear leader for two reasons. Luke and Jack Hughes, Quinn’s younger brothers, play on that team, which is fighting to win the Metropolitan Division.
Quinn’s not the only Hughes brother making headlines these days. Jack Hughes suffered a nasty cut on his hand during a team dinner this month. That is expected to sideline him until mid-January. However, it did not keep the Devils’ second-leading scorer from dining out’ he has been seen in New York with pop star Tate McRae, a huge hockey fan herself.
There are 15 games tonight, then the league takes Thursday off for the holiday before another 15 games on Friday and 11 on Saturday. So there are NHL odds galore to watch.
Same Old Song In Vancouver
This time last year, the Canucks had center J.T. Miller on the market, finally sending him to the New York Rangers in January. Three years ago, Vancouver was shopping then-captain Bo Horvat, who found a home with the New York Islanders in January 2023.
Now, it’s Hughes, a Norris Award-winning blueliner who is one of the top playmakers in the game. He’s tied for sixth in the NHL with 19 assists despite missing five of Vancouver’s first 23 games. Earlier this month, he made history by notching three or more assists in three straight games. The only other defensemen to accomplish that are Paul Coffey, Ray Bourque, Roman Josi and Cale Makar.
That this potential trade news comes on the heels of that outburst has to be frustrating for Canucks fans. However, the team has lost six of its past seven, with the only win coming after it racked up six straight goals in Tampa Bay. At 20 points through the first quarter of the season, Vancouver is third from last in the Western Conference going into Wednesday’s games and likely will miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the ninth time in 11 seasons, so their futures odds at top sportsbooks don’t look too good.
Why Trade Quinn Hughes Now?
Hughes won’t be a free agent until after next season, but the 26-year-old is eligible to sign an eight-year extension with the Canucks after this season. The question is: Would he? Hughes has made it known he wants to play with his brothers at some point. Tying himself to eight prime years in Vancouver would seem to go against that.
A sign-and-trade offseason deal could happen, but the Canucks would likely get more by dealing him sooner rather than later – especially if the Devils remain in the chase for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
Bookies.com will keep an eye on the Hughes news – the Quinn Hughes news, that is – and update the odds as new developments emerge. Also keep an eye out all season for our top sports betting promotions at Bookies.
