Sometimes, you do get what you’re paying for. Just ask Los Angeles Dodgers fans.

For the second year in a row, Dodgers fans will be shelling out more money to attend their team’s home games. It was the case last year; the Dodgers had MLB’s best record and won the World Series. For 2025, L.A. is a heavy favorite to repeat as champion.

Aside from providing MLB odds for sportsbetting, for the third year in a row, Bookies.com has calculated the cost of attending MLB games at each of the 30 stadiums. On average, a family of four will spend $208 on four of the cheapest available tickets, a parking spot, two beers, two sodas and four hot dogs.

That’s a modest increase of $20.47, or 9.8%, compared to the 2024 cost. The cost in 2023 was at $190.03.

Unlike the NBA and definitely unlike the NFL, the cost of going to an MLB game has actually decreased on average. Last year’s average MLB game cost for a family came to $190.03. All things equal, the value of going to an MLB game is far better than going to an NBA ($320.31) and way, way better than the NFL’s average of 808.20. A family could attend a four-game series for cheaper than a single NFL Sunday day game.

The cost between the priciest market and the cheapest, however, is drastic.

While attending a Dodgers game costs $399.68 for a family, the cost is just $124.51 to attend a Cincinnati Reds game.

The notable mover is the Tampa Bay Rays. Last year, Tampa home games ranked 16th in cost to families. For 2025, the Rays are moving from spacious Tropicana Field to George Steinbrenner Field, minor league complex of the Yankees. The venue seats just over 11,000, and with less than half the seating comes double the cost of attending, from $162.75 last year to $330.27, the second-costliest home outing in MLB.

The Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, and New York Mets rounded out the five most expensive games to see in person.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins last year ranked 14th and 17th in expenses, but this year are 26th and 27th. The Chicago White Sox and Colorado Rockies are also in the bottom five. The Houston Astros dropped from 4th to 18th, and the San Francisco Giants from 5th to 16th.

MLB Game Cost

Cheapest Available Ticket

Tickets, of course, make up the vast bulk of the cost of attending an MLB game. With 81 games to choose from and 40,000 or more seats in most houses, getting tickets to most baseball games isn’t nearly as difficult as NBA and NFL games.

Like other pro sports leagues before it, tiered pricing has become a trend. Why charge the same price when Shohei and the Dodgers come to town as you would for the Miami Marlins when you can double the price for Dodgers games?

Bookies.com located the lowest available tickets (4) for home games for the 15th of each month, or the nearest available date, and averaged them out for one cost. Bookies only went through official sources and avoided the secondary market. Tickets used for the formula were for those available as of March 28, 2025.

We also eliminated rivalry games and games that involved the Yankees or Dodgers from the equation – MLB teams dramatically increased standard pricing for the most marquee matchups – as well as ultra-cheap seats that offer obstructed seating or limited availability.

Yet again, the Dodgers had, by far, the most expensive available tickets. Getting into the door costs over  $75 per person, or $304.80. That’s a 21.5% increase from just last year.

The Rays ($230.38 for four seats), Atlanta Braves ($180), Red Sox ($174.20), and Philadelphia Phillies ($173.20) ranked well above the league average.

By contrast, Marlins and Reds tickets could regularly be had at face value for less than $15. Rockies, White Sox, and Angels are all widely available for under $20.

Across the league, the average was close to $29.83.

< id="lot-parking" >Lot Parking

Many MLB stadiums embrace the tailgating atmosphere and thus have massive lots that offer close parking at a modest price. Stadiums located more in the city often have ample lots at various price points. Those in neighborhoods offer no choice but to get gouged.

Much of the appeal of Wrigley Field in Chicago and Fenway Park in Boston is the historic, close-knit feel of the stadiums in their communities. No surprise, then, that those locales are by far the most expensive to park a car, a whopping $85 in Chicago, and $65 in Boston.

Bookies.com only considered parking options that were a 10-minute walk or less (roughly a half-mile). The Reds, Blue Jays, Brewers, and Guardians offer the most affordable parking at $15 or less.

Beer/Soda

We took beer prices and converted them all to 16-ounce size. Yet the cost still varies wildly for a couple of pops. You’re paying $15 for a 16-ouncer at Steinbrenner Field for Rays games, the most in the league for 2025. Sunshine State companion Miami, plus Wrigley’s Cubs, are also way higher than the field.

The same drink costs around half as much at the Rockies, Cardinals, Guardians, Tigers, and Mariners games.

Soda is much less volatile in terms of price but still has a considerable range. Mets games charge an exorbitant amount for soda, nearly $3 more each than any other stadium. Three sodas of the same size in Kansas City cost the same amount.

Hot Dogs

The Atlanta Braves' $3 dogs remain the lowest price in baseball. The Orioles and Angels aren’t too far behind, just $4.

Other places gouge the wiener. They’re $9.50 at Twins games and nearly as much at Cubs games ($8.50).
