White Sox over Twins

Johnny Cueto has been a bright spot for the White Sox all season and hasn’t had any trouble getting adjusted after six years in San Francisco. He’s coming off eight shutout innings in which he only allowed five hits against the Tigers, and he limited Minnesota to two earned runs on five hits over six innings in his prior start.

Twins righty Sonny Gray has struggled with the command lately and got roughed up five earned runs in 4.2 innings in his last assignment. The White Sox are coming off back-to-back wins over the Guardians and they know this four-game series in Minnesota ahead of the All-Star break is possibly the biggest of the year. Tough as things have been, they’re still only five games back of the Twins and can get back into a good position for the second half with a strong showing this weekend. We’re on White Sox moneyline.

Framber Valdez, Over 6.5 Strikeouts

Odds: +100 at BetMGM

We’ve had a lot of success going with K props for starting pitchers facing the Angels, and tonight looks like another good opportunity. Valdez posted 13 strikeouts against Los Angeles earlier this month and is one of the most reliable innings-eaters in the game, going at least six strong in 14 consecutive assignments – 13 of them quality starts.

The Angels are a mess offensively with the lowest team OPS over the last two weeks. They have the most team strikeouts in the league. Mike Trout is injured again and they see a very competent starting pitcher tonight. We’re on Valdez Over 6.5 Ks at +100 odds.

Other MLB Betting Lines We’re Watching

Padres at Rockies: San Diego looks to finish the first half strong, with southpaw Blake Snell taking on fellow lefty Kyle Freeland to kick off a four-game set with the Rockies at Coors Field.

Dodgers at Cardinals: Dodgers lefty Tyler Anderson attempts to cap a strong first half and improve on his 9-1 record against Dakota Hudson and the Cardinals.

Brewers at Giants: Two of the best in the NL go at it tonight with Milwaukee’s Corbin Burnes facing Giants lefty Carlos Rodon in a can’t-miss pitching matchup.
