The first sports equinox was on October 17, 1971. That day, the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the host Baltimore Orioles 2-1 to win Game 7 of the World Series. The afternoon affair was over in just 2 hours and 10 minutes.

The NFL that day saw Archie (he’s Arch’s grandfather) Manning and the lowly New Orleans Saints upset the eventual Super Bowl VI champion Dallas Cowboys 24-14 at Tulane Stadium.

The last Sports Equinox occurred on October 27, 2025.

A year ago, the Sports Equinox saw the Chiefs roll past Washington 28-7 in a game that tied 7-7 at the half. In the World Series, the Dodgers beat the Blue Jays 6-5 in epic 18-inning game that ended well past Midnight in on the East Coast.
