Andy Carroll Transfer Odds Move as Crystal Palace Drift
Andy Carroll is looking for a new club this summer after being released by West Ham at the end of last season and the betting market is wide open on where the big striker will next end up.
On his day Carroll is one of the most feared strikers in the Premier League, but those days have been few and far between in an injury-hit six-year spell at West Ham.
Crystal Palace remain favourites to sign Carroll with Roy Hodgson a big fan of the player having worked with him during his time as England manager, but the price on a switch to Selhurst Park has drifted out slightly to odds against at 6/5 (+120) with Betfair and Paddy Power.
Burnley has been a popular pick for punters with most of the recent money going on Sean Dyche's side to land Carroll.
Carroll is viewed as the ideal type of signing for Burnley as he would thrive under the direct style of Dyche and the recent money on the potential move has seen the price clipped from 17/2 (+850) into 11/2 (+550) with the same sportsbooks.
A potential return to hometown club Newcastle, where Carroll made his named, has been mooted probably during every transfer window and this summer is no different with bookies also going 11/2 (+550) for a return to Tyneside for the local hero.
However, the Magpies remain without a manager following Rafa Benitez’s departure, with the betting on the next Newcastle boss wide open.
Outsiders For Andy Carroll Transfer
Premier League new boys Sheffield United come next in the betting at 7/1 (+700) with and again, like Burnley, Carroll would be an ideal focal point in how Chris Wilder's side like to play football.
Champions League finalists Tottenham are in the market for striking reinforcements this summer and having allowed Fernando Llorente to leave Carroll could be the ready-made replacement. That is a 15/2 (+750) chance.
Aston Villa and Southampton are both rated as 17/2 (+850) shots to sign Carroll as they both look to add to their attacking options ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Scottish giants Rangers are the outsiders at 10/1 (+1000) to sign Carroll with Gers boss Steven Gerrard a former team-mate of the striker from their time together at Liverpool.
He could form a classic big man/small man strike partnership with Jermain Defoe at Ibrox next season as they look to end Celtic's dominance in Scotland.
Wherever Carroll ends up this summer he will be looking for better luck on the injury front as he looks to kick-start again his once promising career.
