BetIndiana, a mobile app launched in the Hoosier State by the Majestic Star Casino in Gary, entered into a real-time sports data and managed trading services agreement with Sportradar on Monday.

According to a news release on Sportradar’s official website, Sportradar will bring managed trading services for BetIndiana, the first startup sportsbook in the U.S. market to launch as an operator. BetIndiana was launched through a partnership with USA Sports Gaming.

“Partnering with Sportradar, another business that’s aggressively diving into the U.S. market, was the right fit for us,” said Frank Ignatius, founder and president of USA Sports Gaming. “As a startup in a competitive landscape, it’s crucial that we hit the ground running with a hyper-focus on growth. Sportradar gives us the opportunity to do that, and we look forward to continuing our journey with them by our side.”

Indiana Sports Betting Market Growing Rapidly

In October, Indiana became the seventh state to debut mobile sports betting when two mobile sportsbooks launched, DraftKings and SugarHouse (which has since rebranded to BetRivers). That was just about a month after sportsbooks started taking bets at retail locations on Sept. 1 and Indiana’s sports betting scene has been rapidly growing since.

Adding to the mix, BetIndiana launched on Oct. 9 by offering Indiana residents the chance to bet via yet another mobile betting platform, one marketed to bettors as “Your Hometown Sportsbook.”

But the hometown option didn’t just go out and partner with just any sports data company. Just this summer, Sportradar and the NFL announced an expansion of their relationship, giving Sportradar exclusive rights to distribute data to sportsbooks from America’s most popular (and most bet on ) sports league.

BetIndiana, Sportradar Partnership of Similar Focuses

Perhaps it was BetIndiana’s pioneering spirit that enabled the two companies to gravitate towards each other. Since being founded in 2000 in Norway, Sportradar has grown to have offices in 24 countries.

“We are pleased to be working with BetIndiana, a true pioneer in the U.S. betting market,” Sportradar’s vice president of U.S. sales and gaming, Neale Deeley, said in the release. “Given its focus on mobile and online sports betting, we are well-positioned to provide BetIndiana with the data, tools and services it needs to succeed for many years to come.”

Indiana launch its sports betting program this year and state regulators already reported more than $35 million in handle during Indiana’s first month of legal sports betting. With DraftKings, BetRivers, FanDuel and BetIndiana launching mobile sportsbooks at various times in October, the next state’s next report is likely to contain significantly higher numbers.

In fact, Indiana sports betting seems to have been on the right track right from the very beginning. The launch of both retail and mobile betting options came quickly in comparison to other states, and regulators followed the lead of forward-thinking states like Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New Jersey where mobile registration could happen from anywhere within state lines without the need cumbersome in-person registrations.
